Top complaints: clunky UI/UX needing full redesign, most mini-apps feel like low-quality garbage, ~1% fees, smart-wallet-only with recovery/login friction, and pushing Base-only content while users want easy multi-chain (Solana etc.). It often promotes tokens/projects that dump fast or lack liquidity. To improve: Overhaul UX for simplicity and trust. Curate mini-apps/tokens ruthlessly for quality. Add external wallet support, clearer fees, and multi-chain options. Nail core reliable wallet/trading before the full social/agent expansion. Strong backing and vision — polish the basics or it stays half-baked per feedback.

The Coinbase app works great in developed countries with clear-ish rules. But the U.S. for instance is only 4% of global population. To get to 1b+ people benefiting from the open financial system, self custody is the only way. Lower friction onboarding, available globally, scales like software rather than a separate regulated entity + local team per country. Then AI agents also need a wallet, and self custody is the better format for that also. Even in developed countries, self-custody is very important for economic freedom.
