Catching up on the budget detail post seeding. The small business CGT concessions haven’t changed to keep up to date with inflation. I don’t know of any genuine farm businesses where this concession would be helpful & trusts have an expiry so at some point there’ll be pain

Talked to a fertilizer trader this morning: - EU will add a ~80eur/ton of urea CO2 tariff from 2026. This law was decided already years ago. - Other fertilizers like CAN or SSP will get 30-50 €/t more expense from 1st of January - Market expected this law will never be implemented and hence didn't really lobby. But here we are now.. - EU tariffs on Russian and Belarusian fertilizer shifted trade flows. Crazy: North America is now buying Russian fertilizer while the EU buys from other origins. - Prices have been firmer since summer due to low nitrogen stocks, less exports out of China and strong demand from India - Phosphate demand was healthy after harvest - Market in general is supported

Why are global urea prices screaming higher? #1 Russia - in middle of Ukraine war #3 Iran - in middle of Israel war #4 Egypt - production down as Israel scales back gas due to Iran war I sure didn't have this playing out on my outlook list...

Very disappointing ⁦@cbhgroup⁩ have already broken their promise at the AGM only 4 months ago that fees will only increase at CPI. Now they’re using members balance sheet to cover their inability to manage costs in a low production season

Are there any spare seeding plant operators in WA at the moment given the dry start? Chasing an extra one that won’t run after they get shown the drug testing kit🙈
