Histology from @hopkins_ent and @MassEyeAndEar found evidence that otolith membrane herniation is associated with decreased caloric responses in Ménière’s Disease, but no evidence of canal duct dilation. Lead by @LeoLShen & @WardensMD

My first postdoc paper with @taekjip is now out in @NatureCellBio! We developed multi-target CRISPR to measure Cas9 dynamics and DSB repair in high-throughput. Huge thanks to @rogerszou and @taekjip for their support and guidance, and to @yliu_UofU, @kalhorlab, @LeoLShen!

New to this whole Twitter thing but wanted to share my first, first-co-authored paper published in @NAR_Open. Check it out here: bit.ly/3lOXYSB! The work involves a CRISPR-based screen that identifies mutants resistant to the translation inhibitor, hippuristanol.

3 EIF4A1 mutants were uncovered: T242P, G361C, and G370S. These were then biochemically validated in vitro and in vivo. Ribosome profiling was then used to determine hippuristanol-sensitive transcripts. The mutants were then used to validate these findings!

It was truly a privilege being involved in this work, and I will miss the Pelletier lab. Jutta Steinberger was also wonderful and deserves all the credit - I was lucky to learn from her and everyone else on the team! 😃
