⚠️🌬️🌊 A strong nor'easter will impact the region through this weekend. Strong winds may lead to tree damage and isolated power outages (tonight-Sat night). Coastal flooding is forecast to peak during the Saturday morning and/or evening high tide. (1/2) #PAwx #NJwx #DEwx #MDwx

⚡️ Scattered storms, some with frequent lightning & thunder, are moving toward our area overnight. Given the shallow, stable surface layer in place across much of the area, there's a good chance the thunder will be the deep, rumbling kind that "shake the whole house." (1/2)

🚨 FLASH FLOOD ALERT TODAY: ANOTHER TROPICAL DOWNPOUR EVENT EXPECTED It’s been the year of high humidity, and today is another classic example of what that tropical moisture can do. Storms could become slow-moving or repeatedly track over the same areas, hammering some communities with torrential rain. Localized rainfall totals of 2–5"+ are possible across parts of the Tri-State. 🌧️ HIGHEST FLOOD CONCERN: Urban areas of NJ — including Jersey City, Hoboken and Bayonne — into NYC, with Queens/Brooklyn on the fringe, as well as parts of Westchester County. Models continue to focus the heaviest rainfall within this corridor, shown graphically below. ⚠️ PRIMARY THREATS • Flash flooding from torrential rainfall • Wind gusts potentially 60+ mph • Localized straight-line wind damage • Isolated tornado cannot be completely ruled out 🌪️ TORNADO THREAT: Marginal at best, but not 0%. I’d like to see greater instability and stronger shear for a more meaningful tornado concern. Hodographs are borderline, but there’s enough spin in the atmosphere to keep the isolated threat alive. The BIG story today is FLASH FLOODING — especially where storms repeatedly track over the same locations. @PIX11News NOW - 10AM

⚠️⛈️ The threat for severe storms and flash flooding has increased for Thursday. Damaging winds & tornadoes are possible, mainly along and SE of I-95. The greatest risk of flash flooding is within the Flood Watch area, within the I-95 corridor & adjacent areas in NJ/PA. (1/2)

⛈️ Showers/storms are expected to impact the region on Sunday. Heavy rainfall potentially leading to flash flooding appears to be the main threat, though a few severe storms are also possible. Aside from an isolated shower/storm, Saturday will be dry and the pick of the weekend.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING OUTSIDE 🤢💦 The Heat Alerts aren't being driven by extreme temperatures—they're being driven by extreme humidity. This is shaping up to be one of the most humid stretches of the summer, with dew points refusing to drop below 70° for days. I wouldn't be surprised to see a few locations briefly reach 80°+ dew points, which is exceptionally rare for NYC and the Tri-State. That tropical air mass will also fuel more drenching downpours through the next two days. The weekend does improve, but it won't be perfect. Expect warm, sticky conditions with at least a chance for an isolated shower or storm. Don't cancel your outdoor plans just yet. 🌦️ @PIX11News

As of 1:25 PM, a band of heavy showers is moving northward and will impact much of the I-95 corridor. Very heavy rainfall in a short period of time can lead to areas of flash flooding! #njwx #pawx

⛈️ Showers/storms are moving into our area. Here is one model's simulation of what the radar could look like through Monday. Multiple rounds of scattered showers/storms expected, but not everyone will experience heavy rainfall. Localized flooding & damaging winds are possible.
