Glad I only have the rewards Bitcoin on Revolute. Severely pissed about the leak though.
This has got to be the absolute worst way to leak customer data by Revolut. They sent bitcoin transaction and passport records to a fake government email. No due diligence at all. Now criminals know exactly how much bitcoin you have in self custody. You can’t trust anyone.

people who stored their btc on coldcard got drained because of entropy. the seed generation was reproducible, anyone could recompute their keys. so i went through every other hardware wallet to see how they make your seed, and whether the same thing can happen again. @Trezor: mixes the device's randomness with randomness from your computer, and the device has to prove it used both. even if its chip is fully broken, you're still fine. the best design here by far. @BitBoxSwiss: 5 separate sources of randomness combined. one bad source can't sink you. open source, reproducible builds, dice supported. @FoundationHQ: built their own randomness circuit out of plain resistors and capacitors, open source, on top of two other sources. no black-box chip to trust. supports dice. @KeystoneWallet: 2 secure chips from 2 different manufacturers, combined. also lets you roll 99 dice and publishes how to check the result yourself. @Blockstream: jade pulls from 7 things: radio noise, cpu counters, battery, temperature, camera, your input, the app. very hard to break all of them. @SeedSigner: your dice are the only source. no chip to trust at all. and they ship a guide teaching you to verify their own math. weakest hardware, strongest proof. @OneKey: secure element plus mcu combined on device, open source firmware. solid, but you can't add your own randomness. @Ledger: one certified chip (AIS-31, EAL5+). good randomness. but it's a single source, closed source, and you cannot verify any of it. you're trusting them completely. @Tangem: key is born inside the chip and never comes out. audited by three firms. same trade: strong, and impossible for you to check by design. @ngrave_official: mixes chip randomness with your fingerprint and room light. clever. but the "EAL7" badge covers one software component, not the whole device. @ELLIPAL: single certified chip, no software fallback, fails closed instead of guessing. closed source, so take it on faith. @SafePal: 2 chips mixed. they've never published the details. @COLDCARDwallet: patched now, and dice on coldcard were always verifiable. but every seed made between 2021 and 2026 is permanently burned. one source = ledger, tangem, ellipal. that one source fails, everything fails. their answer is to make it excellent and certified. that's exactly the bet coldcard lost. many sources = trezor, bitbox, passport, jade, keystone. one broken source never reaches your key. and every one of these claims 128 or 256 bits. coldcard did too. certification doesn't help either, coldcard's chip was fine, the code just stopped calling it. the only thing that saves you is being able to check. roll your own dice. verify the words yourself.

The Bitcoin subreddit is absolutely heartbreaking right now. So many people have been destroyed. I recommend having a look because it gives you a different perspective compared to X. Really sad.

NSW brewery @HawkesburyBrew has been making headlines over the past 24 hours. Operations Manager Adam Neal said the brewery uses excess solar energy to power liquid-cooled Bitcoin miners, with the recovered heat then used in brewing operations. The system is currently generating around $2,000 worth of bitcoin each month. “If you can utilise the heat for some sort of purpose… for heating, that’s fantastic,” said Professor Sean Foley, Professor of Applied Finance at Macquarie University. Bitcoin mining is increasingly proving to be more than just a source of revenue. For businesses with surplus energy or a need for low-cost heat, it can become another tool to reduce operating costs, improve energy efficiency, and strengthen the economics of their operations. The Australian Bitcoin Industry Body looks forward to more Australian businesses exploring how Bitcoin mining can turn wasted energy into lower costs and greater competitiveness.

The Sentinel ecosystem has stood strong for 9 years through several tumultuous market cycles with unwavering determination and consistent progress. The current Cosmos leadership has made it clear that there is no focus on ecosystem chains outside of ATOM and there are very few active participants left in the ecosystem with little to no mind-share. Sentinel started building on Cosmos from 2018 and has developed a significant amount of custom modules at the application layer over the years. Sentinel won the game of zones hackathon competition defeating teams like Luna (pre-collapse) and other highly capable teams - showing Sentinel's dedication and commitment to the Cosmos stack and the technology itself. Sentinel always adapts to its circumstances and evolves for the changing times. Sentinel has proven its ability to garner enterprise adoption and has reached new all-time-high metrics crossing over 200k users within a single month recently. With consistent effort on network economics and revenue, several dVPN apps built on Sentinel intend to turn revenue positive in this year. Some of the largest companies in the world today that you see focused on creating a rigid infrastructure to support a large userbase for years before turning revenue positive. After years of dedication and commitment Sentinel has proven its scale of infrastructure and is now working towards creating economic structures in a permisionless ecosystem. Every step of the way has been thoroughly documented and transparently shared. The entire ecosystem is open-source. In this year, the Sentinel protocol layer will be transitioning to an ecosystem which has the highest amount of retail mindshare and active builders. Sentinel has the only framework for individuals to build real-world consumer apps that have the ability to provide real utility to non-crypto users across the world. Sentinel's decentralized architecture will not be compromised, the DHT will continue and building a dVPN and using a dVPN will always be possible with just a RPC connection alone. Very thorough documentation will be shared in the near future including Sentinel's roadmap ahead as well as its journey towards revenue and progress with enterprise activity.

Every time I read, “Investors get an advantage wage earners don’t”, I wonder if we’re looking at the issue the right way. I’m an average retail investor. I buy a little into an ETF every payday using money I’ve already paid income tax on. I haven’t felt I’m being handed any free money. I choose to invest my savings every fortnight knowing there’s no guarantee of making a profit. My investments can rise, fall, or go nowhere at all. That’s why I’ve never seen the Capital Gains discount as an “unfair advantage”. A wage is paid in return for work that’s been done. Whereas investing involves putting your own, already taxed savings at risk with no guarantee of a return. The CGT discount was introduced to encourage people to long term invest by recognising that difference. If the answer to every Australian trying to build wealth is simply to “tax their investment more”, we shouldn’t then be surprised if fewer people decide it’s worth saving and investing in the first place. Strong capital markets help business access capital, expand, and innovate. Over time, that supports a strong economy. Surely the goal should be to encourage more people to save, take the risk to invest and become financially independent, not make them question whether taking that first step is worthwhile if every attempt to build wealth is met with calls to tax them harder 🤔🤔

My business (and I personally) will qualify for the proposed tech startup carve out… but it's terrible policy. If these tax changes are so damaging that the Government needs to create special exemptions for tech companies and a subset of small businesses, that's an admission the underlying policy has serious flaws. Why should founders, employees and investors in one industry get relief while everyone else wears the cost?? What about the medium-sized manufacturers, retailers, healthcare businesses, agricultural businesses, professional services firms and the thousands of ASX-listed companies that employ millions of Australians? And what about the 7.7 million Australians who invest in shares outside super? They don't get a carve out despite facing much higher tax on successful long term investments. That gaping hole in the policy hasn't been fixed! This $77 billion transfer from the productive private sector and aspirational younger Australians to government will make Australia less competitive, discourage investment, productivity and entrepreneurship, and push more capital towards foreign investors who are often exempt from Australian CGT altogether. It's a massive own goal for the country.

Today we are announcing two closely related decisions that will help shape the future of the Timpi ecosystem. The first is that we have decided to begin the process of removing NTMPI from its current centralized exchange listings. The second is that we are formally initiating the process of migrating NTMPI to a new blockchain ecosystem. While our exchange listings have provided accessibility for some users, they have consistently underperformed expectations in terms of trading activity, liquidity, and overall ecosystem impact. After careful evaluation, we no longer believe that continuing to invest resources into supporting these listings represents the best path forward for the project. At the same time, the possibility of migrating NTMPI to a new blockchain ecosystem has been discussed internally and within the community for quite some time. As the project has matured, we have increasingly explored whether alternative ecosystems could provide stronger foundations for liquidity, accessibility, integrations, and long-term growth. These two realities have now converged. READ MORE...............timpi.io/ntmpi-consolidation…
