Claude Opus 5.5 designed the PCB for Kookabus-01. Then I asked it for a 3D printable enclosure. First print. Board drops straight in and every connector lines up with its cutout! Same model did the board and the box. Claude is really impressing me.

An astrophysicist worked with Claude Science to create the first complete ultraviolet map of the sky. Astronomers have already created complete sky maps from radio to gamma rays. But large regions of the sky have never been observed in UV. In today’s science blog, Brice Ménard explains how he guided Claude to find existing datasets, combine them, and fill in the gaps with statistical inference. The work would have taken humans weeks of work, but, with Claude, just took a few days while Ménard worked on other projects. The resulting map is a useful teaching tool and an example of exactly the sort of slow, low-priority work which scientists never quite get around to, but which AI now makes feasible.

the game dev community is gonna have a very complicated week
Introducing Unity Spark — a new way to create a game, iterate on it with others, publish it, and play it - all without writing a line of code. You'll build with artist-created assets from the Unity Asset Store, and then you can take your game to the next level by refining it in a new web-based editor. Prompt it. Perfect it. Publish it. Inspired games, with artist-created assets, built on Unity. Closed beta coming soon.

Introducing Griffin, the first model to pass the video Turing test. 48% of people who talked to it live thought it was a real human. Previous systems have had a pass rate <3%. It is #1 on NVIDIA's benchmark for full-duplex AI video. It’s the first Human Interaction Model (HIM).
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The 48% figure and "video Turing test" claim are from Tavus's own study of 54 one-minute calls, not independently verified or using a standard protocol. New Open-Source AI Animator: Text-to-Animation for Humans, Animals, Creatures, Robots & More UniMate generates motion from text prompts for rigged 3D characters. Describe an action and turn it into animation. Highlights: • One model, different skeletons—no separate retraining for each rig. • Generate transitions between existing keyframes. • Edit motion with text while keeping selected joints unchanged. • Extend animations with a sequence of prompts. • Export animated meshes as FBX and GLB. • MIT-licensed code + downloadable preview weights. github.com/Friedrich-M/UniMa…

A student built a real anti-gravity machine… using an Arduino. How to Make an Acoustic Levitator: Arduino Nano + motor driver + about 60 ultrasonic transducers. They all emit ~40 kHz sound. The sound waves meet and form fixed pockets in the air. Tiny bits of styrofoam get stuck in those pockets and just hang there. If you put your hand in, the pattern breaks and they fall. Same principle labs use to move droplets or samples without touching them.
