My role as a pastor is not to build something big, for my sake.
My role as a pastor is to build something healthy, for the next guy's sake.
Every pastor's daily goal should be to work such that his successor enjoys an even more fruitful, calm, and unified ministry than he does. And to till and plant accordingly.
We're going to be done soon, and quickly forgotten. Good. This church is Christ's. The glory is God's. Let's pray and love our people today and set up our successor to thrive.
