Mansfield Legacy head basketball coach Ben Kinnison believes the strongest teams are built on more than individual talent. For the Broncos, genuine relationships, selflessness and a shared commitment to winning are what make the difference. Kinnison emphasizes competing in everything, from practice situations to game-day possessions, but the foundation of that competitive mindset comes from how much his players care about one another. Their connection extends beyond the court, creating a culture where sacrificing for teammates becomes second nature. “It’s easier to sacrifice for somebody you care about as opposed to somebody that you feel like you’re in competition with.” That chemistry has helped establish a group willing to embrace different roles, put personal recognition aside and prioritize the success of the program. For Kinnison, the bond his players share is one of the most valuable aspects of this Mansfield Legacy team. “They care about each other and they care about winning more than they care about stats.”
