Before there were podcasts, there was talk radio. In fact, the format is still going strong.
People like Noah Adams are part of the reason why.
In many ways, Adams helped establish the voice of @npr's flagship news and commentary program, "All Things Considered." He was co-host for nearly 20 years between 1982 and 2002, bringing listeners lively stories about life in the United States and beyond.

Reality television fans are missing Amber Siyavus this week. The "Big Brother" star died Friday at 46. She was affectionately known as "Whamber" for her willingness to show viewers that it's okay to cry.
For decades, singer Martina Arroyo delighted audiences with her soprano voice and broke new ground as one of the first Black women to achieve major success in opera.
Even those who did not follow opera knew her work, thanks to 20 appearances on Johnny Carson.
The Hall of Fame singer died this week at age 90 - but her legacy lives on through her music.

Two big milestones for one great show. Demond Wilson (Lamont Sanford) would have turned 80 today. And Redd Foxx (Fred Sanford) died 35 years ago this week.
This January will also mark 55 years since "Sanford and Son" debuted.

In a show as wild and unpredictable as "Breaking Bad," RJ Mitte injected a sense of normalcy into the White household. Playing Walt's teen son, he helped ensure that that the show's dark turns remained rooted in the ordinary world of suburbia.
The star of "Beverly Hills, 90210" was an icon for an entire generation of viewers.
