Steel is a strategic industry that underpins our economy, our sovereignty, and our national security. It’s time for us to nationalize Stelco to protect Canadian jobs and assert control over this critical sector.
P3 privatizers: our projects are on time and on budget. Ottawa Civic privatized P3: planned for 2028, but now it looks more like 2033 or 2034. cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/ot…
What privatization means: Ontario government officials who inspected three private career colleges found evidence suggesting third parties were completing the coursework — sometimes entire courses in one day — and a few students who couldn't name their school or program.
For-profit clinics are determined to extra-bill for medically necessary services - and wait times are worse.
The Ford PCs are directly to blame.
Outsourcing surgeries and imaging to private for-profit clinics in Ontario didn't drop wait times for most procedures. Wait times worsened for cataract surgery and MRI. CT scan didn't improve. Profiteering just doesn't work. @a_longhurst

After the war on Iran, the U.S. blockade of Cuba is ironically proving to be another powerful ad campaign for Chinese green technology.

The Ontario government is aggressively privatizing surgeries and medical imaging—core hospital services

Report: Ontario spent $4 billion over 8 years on private facility funding, which has been increasing faster than funding for hospitals. The effect on wait times? They’re rising. ctvnews.ca/toronto/article/w… @CTVNews
The number of Ontarians aged 55 and older with health care interactions related to opioid use disorder (OUD) more than doubled between 2017 and 2025. But only 38% of those who died had an interaction with the health system for OUD.

413 job cuts at a major paediatric, cancer, trauma hospital and the Minister predicts no impact on patients. The most efficient hospitals in Canada can't cut 5% of their staff without patients suffering.

The Doug Ford PCs can only drive people to for-profit clinics by cutting public hospital services to the bone.

There are so many charts like this, where, if you remove China from the global data, the change is no longer significant.
China is responsible for:
- half of the world's solar/wind energy capacity,
- all of the decline in global pollution,
- 3/4ths of extreme poverty reduction
How fast is the world building up solar power?
The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) is an intergovernmental organization with 172 countries and the European Union. Its Renewable Energy Statistics is a reference dataset on how much renewable power capacity has been installed around the world.
IRENA gathers the figures each year from national statistical offices, energy ministries, and industry associations, and fills gaps from official reports. The data covers almost every country from 2000 to 2025, broken down by technology: solar, wind, hydropower, bioenergy, geothermal, and others.
The chart shows the total solar capacity installed in each country, in gigawatts. Note that the figures are cumulative: they count every panel still in operation, not only those added in a given year.
The world added more than 500 gigawatts of solar in 2025 alone — more than twice all the solar capacity that existed anywhere in 2015. China alone accounts for half of the world’s cumulative total, with 1,200 gigawatts.
Our principal data scientist Pablo Rosado recently updated our charts with IRENA’s July 2026 release, which adds data for 2025. In the same pass, he updated two other IRENA datasets we rely on: the cost of electricity from renewable plants, and patents in renewable energy technologies.

NEW from us: India's rapid clean power expansion has kept power sector emissions flat for two years, for the first time in over 50 years, and sharply reduced fossil fuel imports. Oil and gas consumption have also fallen for two years in a row, helping alleviate the Hormuz shock.
