Things I would like to get done this week: Base game rebuild: Uncertain, because it has external dependencies like Epic & Fab approvals. But we have plenty of other things still needed; so lead time isn't all negative First interior design and testing: Industrial interior likely and pretty easy, natural/cave interior is dependent if I already have sufficient resources or need to buy or build more. Lighting is going to be key! Named NPC interaction and quest test: Soul destroying work this weekend was worth it! I now have several names NPCs ready to go. Building a quest trial around them *Should* be "easy" 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤣 Further optimisation of the world and aspects of hero and NPC characters (the actual real work): We're already able to run the game on mid-range, (even basic PC) systems, but there's heaps more optimisations possible around stuff like character hair and materials. I want to make space for some immersive effects like heat ripple on "necessary" objects like exhaust pipes. Weather effects and heat ripple are going to need graphical menu options for the player to disable/enable, because they eat GPU memory. Anyways, below is some insight into mini meetings I'm having with Grok on design, between reading and watching heaps of game design related content. Reposted; is some example content, letting you hear the weather effects as they appear in-game, and showcasing what a large scale city will look and feel like.
