The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra has received funding from Birmingham City Council for the past 104 years.
This year it faces a 50% cut.
Next year, a 100% cut.
These are not normal measures, or normal times.
The deepening crisis in local government demands action now.
We are devastated at what the recently announced city council cuts could mean for the people of Birmingham and for the culture sector in this city. We urgently need creative solutions towards continued investment in the arts. Read our collective statement: cbso.co.uk/stories/bcc-cuts
