Two Men Re-Arrested Over RAF Fairford Incident as Police Say Iranian State Involvement Is "Highly Likely" A 24-year-old and a 25-year-old are held on suspicion of assisting a foreign intelligence service, and no one has been charged Reports of three vehicles travelling towards RAF Fairford at 00:45 hours on 27 September sent armed officers to the scene "not knowing what they may face", in the words of Deputy Assistant Commissioner Vicki Evans of Counter Terrorism Policing. Five men were arrested in Whelford on suspicion of Explosives Act offences and preparation of a terrorist act, and Assistant Commissioner Laurence Taylor later said: "we can confirm that no improvised explosive devices were found. However, a quantity of petrol was recovered." The five were released on police bail the next day. On Tuesday 20 October, two of the seven men now arrested in the investigation were re-arrested, a 24-year-old UK national and a 25-year-old dual UK/Iranian national. They are held on suspicion of assisting a foreign intelligence service under Section 3 of the National Security Act 2023, in an investigation Counter Terrorism Policing says relates to Iran. Counter Terrorism Policing has told news outlets that a warrant of further detention was granted at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, allowing the two men to be held without charge until 27 October. No one has been charged, and the other five remain on bail. Taylor, Head of National Counter Terrorism Policing, said: "This is very much a live investigation, and our evidence gathering continues, but at this time our position remains the same; we consider it highly likely that there is Iranian state involvement. Our investigators are continuing to examine what that level of involvement was and the ambition behind it." Describing a "hugely complex investigation", he added: "We know the public have unanswered questions. I want to be as transparent as possible and when we are in a position to share more, we will." To clarify. It’s actually even worse. The horror of what our families face is this: my son’s killer, Valdo Calocane, was given a Section 37/41 hospital order. This is medical care, not a penal sentence. By January 2027—the 3-year mark—he can legally apply to a tribunal to come out if deemed well enough. Worse, until our recent fight to close the loophole, these criminal patients actively pocketed up to £800/month in state benefits from their hospital beds. A hospital order is not prison. We face a life sentence ensuring this monster is never released. #JusticeForBarnaby #NottinghamAttacks 💚💛

George Arthur Roberts was the first Black man in the UK to serve as a firefighter in Britain during wartime. In 1919 he became heavily involved with the post-war welfare of soldiers. He led thousands of ex-servicemen in a march demanding improved rights and higher pensions. After the war, he settled in South London, where he faced pervasive racism. In response, in 1931 he became one of the founding members of the League of Coloured Peoples, one of the first organisations to focus on the needs of Britain’s Black community. Aged 50 at the start of WW2, he joined the Auxiliary Fire Service and was stationed at New Cross fire station in South East London, where he served throughout the Blitz and the rest of the war. In 2016, a Blue Plaque was erected in his honour, as the first Black man to serve in the army and fire brigade. The plaque is on the Lewis Trust Dwellings in Warner Road, Camberwell.

Norway 🇳🇴 put Chinese 🇨🇳 EVs in a mine so the cars could not “see” the outside world. 🚘 They still tried to call home. 🛜 Researchers found data moving with the car switched off. About 90% of the traffic from the car they tore down went to China. Same country now selling cheap EVs into Canada. 🇨🇦 Cameras. Mics. Always-on modems. PRC intelligence law. This is not a green-car debate. ♻️ It is a rolling sensor debate. 🛰️ Ottawa wants the cheap sticker price. Beijing wants the feed. #cdnpoli #CCP

More state sponsored terrorism being enabled across Europe and the USA.
🚨 $40,000 for a killing in the US and $25,000 in Lithuania: US authorities uncover alleged Russian intelligence network US authorities have charged five people who, according to prosecutors, worked on behalf of Russian intelligence services and sought operatives for surveillance, killings, and acts of sabotage in the United States and Europe. One episode took place in the US. A recruited individual was first tasked with surveilling a prominent Russian dissident and was later offered $40,000 to “eliminate” or “make disappear” the target. Another episode involved Lithuania. According to the indictment, FSB officer Kirill Khrameev paid an American about $200 to photograph the home of another target. His father, Yuri Khrameev — described by prosecutors as a former colonel in the Russian security services — then allegedly offered around $25,000 to kill that person. When the American refused, he was offered “easier work”: setting fire to a warehouse or attacking an electrical substation. According to prosecutors, Khrameev explained that the targets should be in countries supporting Ukraine.
