Recent events in Manchester highlighted the strained relationship between police and members of the Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities; Lee Curran, Lecturer in Policing at Liverpool John Moores University, Dr Dan Allen, Principal Social Work Lecturer at Liverpool Hope University, and Dr Julie Feather, Senior Research Fellow at Edge Hill University explore the reciprocated tension, fear and mistrust between community members and law enforcement, and outline the suggestions for a four-step framework to improve that relationship.

In partnership with @lpoolcouncil we’re expanding across the Mersey to better support male victims & survivors of domestic abuse in Liverpool.
While we’ve always provided services throughout the Merseyside, our presence is more known on Wirral due to our PLF community hub

Male survivors of abuse and harassment have unique needs. We must ensure these needs are met.
Today, I wrote to @jessphillips calling for a national strategy to tackle interpersonal violence against men and boys.

ALT An image of Baroness Newlove accompanied by a quote from her letter to the Minister for Safeguarding. It reads: "I have long advocated for a dedicated strategy to address physical and sexual violence against men and boys. As survivors of abuse, I am sure you would agree these victims deserve tailored support to meet their unique needs and help them cope, recover and rebuild their lives."

We are now working with both @WirralCouncil and @lpoolcouncil … sadly the figures we have available show the urgent need for support for male domestic abuse victims in our area is needed more than ever

I hear too often people saying that Coercive Control is a non- violent version of Domestic Abuse. This is not accurate. It’s a misunderstanding of Coercive Control.

We've just updated our media database featuring male victims of domestic abuse. Coverage goes back to 2007 and runs to 158 pages! Ideal for researchers. mankind.org.uk/wp-content/up…
