Partly true, but not "just" now. A 2022 MoD data leak of ~19,000 Afghan applicants triggered a super-injunction (Sept 2023–July 2025) that banned all press reporting under threat of jail. Nearly 24,000 were offered relocation; thousands arrived in secret at multibillion cost. They get indefinite leave to remain, full access to benefits and housing support like UK citizens. Lifelong welfare is possible without working if they qualify on means tests.

The real scandal here is not Xhaka getting a false vaccination certificate.
Rather it's the unethical Swiss law which pressurised a young man to have a medical intervention with significant risks & uncertainties yet (statistically) zero benefit to himself or others.
