🚧 Highway 3 Twinning Project Update 🚧 The Alberta Transportation & Economic Corridors and Ledcor Highways Ltd are making strong progress on the Highway 3 Twinning Project between Taber and Burdett, designed to: ✅ Expand highway capacity ✅ Enhance safety ✅ Support economic growth in Southern Alberta ✅ Improve the movement of goods and people 📍 PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS - 54 km of twinned highway, including an 8 km bypass around Grassy Lake - 11 bridge-sized structures - 10 service roads - 2 rest area pullouts - 802 new signs, 38 km of fencing, and 30 new streetlights - Over 475,000 tonnes of asphalt and 2.8 million cubic meters of grading 🛣️ TRAFFIC DETOURS & IMPACTS - Curve Realignment Detour (RR 144 to RR 142) in place until Nov 30 - Speed reductions and closures at various intersections from RR 144 to RR 140 - RR 132 remains closed until Summer 2026 - Expect truck traffic and reduced speeds near RR 135 and Hwy 877 📅 2025 PROGRESS SUMMARY - Major grading, gravel, and paving work completed from RR 154 to RR 142 - Utility relocations by ATCO, AltaLink, Fortis, TELUS, and Enmax - SMRID culvert structures and pipelines completed - Hwy 877 intersection and detour paving finished 🔜 WHAT'S NEXT - Continued grading and paving moving east - SMRID Structures 7-8 and 11 begin Oct 15 - TELUS and AltaLink utility work continues - MD of Taber waterline construction in bypass area begins soon 📍 For more information, please contact us at [email protected] or visit the Highway 3 Twinning webpage: ledcorhighways.com/areas-we-… 📢 Stay tuned for more updates as we move toward Fall 2026 completion!
