This baby girl is Cholula. A few weeks ago she was living on/under my porch and not getting on with the other feral kitties. Now she's safe and cozy and purrs for scritches. #CatsOfTwitter

I'm at the East Texas Historical Association meeting listening to a paper on J. Mason Brewer. This is the second conference paper on Brewer I've heard this year. Glad to see this African American folklorist getting the recognition he deserves.

To clarify my previous tweet, Notable Folklorists of Color already has him listed along with other often overlooked scholars.

Worrye not about 'being productive,' for thou art not a product. Thou art a star daunsinge yn a hopeful skye. A signal blinking across centuryes and worldes. Thou art a song performid just once and perfectlye. Thy tyme ys unquantifiable and ys for beautye, not use.

I'm not a boomer, but my boomer complain is the over use of graphics in emails. Sure, use images and color to make things pop, but I should still be able to read your email without letting the graphics download.

Elmo, the great thing about specializing in something is you get to decide. I think you’ll be a great specialist in anything you end up choosing!
Mr. Stephen Nedoroscik, Elmo wants to be a specialist too! Elmo was thinking he could be the giggle specialist or maybe a monster-hug specialist. Elmo will keep thinking! #ParisOlympics

Apparently two years ago someone opened a PayPal credit card in my name. From what I've learned, the used my social and phone number, but a different mailing address and email address. For a year and a half they paid their bills and I knew nothing about it.

I have been informed that it was rejected because it had been opened for two years. I was also told that they verified some of the charges were legitimate. They could not, however, tell me how that was done.

Little Olympic story for you: My Mom didn't really follow gymnastics and she knew very little about men's gymnastics. But in 2016 she decided that she was rooting for Oleg Verniaiev.

I lost her in January. And now I'm sitting here watching the livestream at work and getting teary because I know she would be SO excited to see him still doing so well 8 years later.

By the way, Mom would be very proud of his final results. She's be alternating between telling everyone that 8th is absolutely something to be proud of (obviously, it is) and arguing that she thought some of his scores were too low. Mom was ride or die for those she liked.
