BJP’s record win in West Bengal would not be possible without the efforts and struggles of countless Karyakartas over generations. I salute them all. For years, they have worked hard on the ground, overcome all sorts of adversities and spoken about our development agenda. They are the strength of our Party.

#BhalobashaBengal | I will support any initiative that benefits our citizens and contributes to the vision of #ViksitBharat. Bengal is deeply rooted in my identity—it’s in my DNA. There is a clear difference between political movements and governance. For me, governance is about education, entrepreneurship, employment, and empowerment—that is what true good governance stands for: @Leander, Ex Tennis Player

Former tennis star Leander Paes has formally begun his new political innings after joining the BJP ahead of the West Bengal Assembly elections, outlining his vision for youth empowerment and sports development in the state.
Speaking at a press conference in Kolkata after returning from Delhi, Paes emphasised his deep-rooted connection with the city, describing it as his "motherland". He stressed the need to strengthen the youth of Bengal and ensure that the state does not turn into an “old-age home".
With his latest move, Paes has signalled a renewed focus on public life, particularly in shaping sports policy and infrastructure, at a time when India is looking to strengthen its sporting ecosystem with long-term goals such as hosting the 2036 Olympics.

Leander Paes

Great conversation with tennis legend @Leander on his years in Australia and where we take it from here. He is very ambitious for Australia-India sporting links. He also joined the High Commission's tennis community for a hit. 🇦🇺🇮🇳🎾
