Updates to the 2D Animation repo are now live! 🔥👀
Repo link below 👇
What change:
-added the frame editor; manually remove or extract frames from the sprite sheet
-vertical alignment added scripts
-tools for manual cleanup of the vertical alignment added + a script for automatic cleanup attempt
-updates to image prompting helper geared to reduced grainy animation output
-updates to video model prompting helper
Enjoy! And as always, feedback is appreciated.
This 80.lv interview is a great little game-dev pipeline read.
Here’s the gist:
- The EverQuest Legends team rebuilt workflows for classic assets
- Old formats get converted into Blender and 3DS Max, then back into the game
- Nice reminder that tooling is what makes preservation practical
Love this kind of behind-the-scenes production detail.

Claude Opus 5 looks very agent-focused.
Here’s the gist:
- Anthropic says it improves long-running coding and professional work
- Effort settings let users trade off cost, speed, and capability
- Big focus is verification and careful iteration, not just one-shot answers
That’s the part I’d watch for real workflows.

Very nice game-dev workflow breakdown from 80.lv.
Here’s the gist:
- HAWKED used a Houdini to Unreal tool for procedural waterfalls
- Artists shape the waterfall with curves, then drive masks into an Unreal material
- Good example of procedural tools keeping creative control in the editor
Love this kind of practical tech art.

Unity 7 sounds more practical than flashy, which is nice.
Here’s the gist:
- Built as a continuation of Unity 6, with a promised no-rebuild upgrade path
- Adds workflow, graphics, ecosystem, and monetization improvements
- Leaves room for coding agents and browser-based review without forcing AI into every team
Good direction if it holds up.

Very nice Blender update for game art and tech art workflows.
Here’s the gist:
- Blender 5.2 LTS adds Geometry Nodes physics for hair and cloth
- There’s a new audio frequency node for reactive animation setups
- Mesh bevel and geometry bundle nodes make procedural modeling cleaner
Feels useful for teams building more reusable art pipelines.

This NVIDIA post is a good read if you're thinking about why agents still feel brittle.
Here’s the gist:
- NVIDIA argues agent quality is becoming a data problem
- The post covers tool-use traces, workflow failures, prompt maps, and synthetic personas
- The useful bit: agent datasets need lineage and inspection, not just bigger model releases

IBM Research’s CUGA post is a useful agent-app pattern: keep each app as ordinary FastAPI code, define a tool list and a prompt, then let the harness handle planning, tool calls, state, reflection, guardrails, and provider switching.
The boring tool-return envelope may be the best reliability detail.

It’s getting wild on the open source model front 👀
PP-OCRv6 is a reminder that not every vision-text problem needs a giant VLM.
The new Hugging Face release gives developers 1.5M to 34.5M parameter OCR models, 50-language support, structured JSON outputs, and PaddleOCR, Transformers, or ONNX Runtime deployment paths.

MCP’s Enterprise-Managed Authorization is a big practical step for enterprise agents: log in once through the company IdP, inherit approved MCP servers, avoid per-server OAuth prompts, and keep policy plus audit in one place.
This is how agent tooling moves from demo to deployment.

I still can’t believe Apple quietly removed the 256GB Mac Studio models in May.
512GB is pretty much a myth at this point.
MosaicLeaks is a sharp reminder that research agents can leak secrets without quoting a private file. A few ordinary web searches can form a mosaic that reveals confidential facts.
ServiceNow’s PA-DR result is interesting because it trains query privacy directly, cutting leakage from 34.0% to 9.9%.

Does anyone else create single page HTML dashboards with AI on a regular basis?
How do you share them?
The next AI interface isn’t just chat or coding CLI, it’s the desktop agent. The Batch’s OpenCoworker push is interesting because it treats privacy, local memory, provider choice, and harness tooling as first-class design constraints.
The local-model story has changed: Gemma-class models + LM Studio + a sandboxed agent harness are now good enough for real coding loops, tests, refactors, and local workflow experiments. Still rough, but no longer a toy.
Is it just me, or does it feel like @grok is flying today? Token generation feels off the charts.
Every time a new AI game tool drops, half the replies are “this is gonna ruin everything.”
The other half already shipped their first prototype with it.
Steam 2025: 1 in 5 new games disclosed AI content. 2026 trending higher. Quality dying or solo dev flood incoming?
