My thoughts on the penalty shootout after a draw in the Australian Championship. Initially I was for it: it’s difficult to replicate the pressure of a PSO at training, so any excuse to do it in a competitive match is good practice for Australian football.
The concept has merit but there has to be something real on the line. It would be better if you lose the PSO you don't get any points. You have to win the PSO to earn the point from drawing. Suddenly, something is on the line and the pressure of a real PSO is replicated
I reckon this club Adelaide is playing against has spelt their name wrong #ACLtwo
Since September 2024, Socceroos have played ten competitive matches with only one loss (USA at the World Cup). Includes a win and draw against Japan, a win and draw against Saudi, plus four points in the World Cup against Türkiye and Paraguay to finish second in the group.

"Sorry, you're David, right? From SBS. I grew up watching you!"
😍 A heartwarming moment as Awer Mabil paused his press conference to thank David Basheer and reflect on the impact that SBS had on his journey.

We are actually so good when we have Irankinda, McGree and Bos on the park.
Add in Toure when he's fit.

I hope they let Grozos lift the trophy. Banning red-carded players from being at the trophy presentation is one of the dumb football rules which I hate #AustraliaCup
This is really sad. Maria was incredibly passionate and incredibly effective. The game always came first and she campaigned fiercely for women's football. Most importantly, she was a genuine and kind person. I will miss her greatly
Football Victoria mourns the passing of a monumental figure in women’s football, Maria Berry AM. We extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends and the wider football community.

My club is currently two players short from being able to enter a women's Division 8 team. Anyone on Twitter live near Strathfield and interested in playing?
Wanted: Treasurer for community football club.
I'm president at ACU FC, recently named one of the top ten clubs in Australia.
Our previous treasurer has stepped down due to new work opportunities so we are looking for a new volunteer treasurer.
The position can be done remotely. Committee meetings are once a month, held online. We're a small club, around 200 members so it's not a heavy-duty role. If you're interested, please let me know.
You would also be working with the wonderful @LaniJohnson2000 and @MatthewRT who are also on the club committee
