The Animals losing their voices in Wicked strikes a painful a chord. If we don’t use our voices, we could lose them too.
As a teen I remember reading Anne Frank's Diary of a Young Girl. As an adult, all I can think of is how hard it must've been on the adults to try to keep their children (and themselves) safe. Reading Mr. Frank's last speech gets me every time.

"She still sings in her head, she tells me. During auditions for the show, she hums along or mouths the words as a young woman sings I Could Have Danced All Night. When she closes her eyes, she can still hear her voice, the voice, hitting an F above high C."

Dave Chappelle’s monologue on SNL was utterly brilliant. His serious moment at the end, talking about former President Jimmy Carter and the call for people to do better was especially stirring.
From one of my favorite Marilyn Monroe movies: "How to Marry a Millionaire." When she puts on her glasses, it's a heroic act. youtube.com/watch?v=fPewE7y_…

One of my favorite films is Enchanted April, and when I heard Joan Plowright had passed, I immediately thought of her portrayal of this cold, tight woman who blossoms in the sun thanks to her loving companions in Italy.
She was a force to be reckoned with. #RIPJoanPlowright
