I understand the impetus to feel this way, but that is not happening. No dam is breaking. Private conversations and condemnations mean nothing. Public statements mean nothing. What we are seeing are words and zero actions. We are seeing countries protect themselves as they know Israel embarks on exactly what it has been doing for almost two years; on what these countries have supported every single day. We are looking at image and legal position mitigation and nothing else. It’s PR and we’ve been here before.
Something is happening. The number of government officials from around the world who I've heard in private conversations call Israel's slaughter in Gaza a genocide - without qualifications and caveats - has increased dramatically in just the past weeks. The dam is breaking.

A source with knowledge of British surveillance capabilities in the Middle East told me that surveillance flights over Gaza give Britain "a bird's-eye view of the genocide". "Britain knows exactly what is happening because of those flights" Full story linked below:

Massacre after massacre, day and night in Gaza. We will never forget that this Government had a chance to fulfil its own obligations under international law, to prevent acts of genocide. Instead, it chose to be complicit in these acts — by continuing to sell arms to Israel.
BREAKING: At least 70 people have been killed in Gaza this morning, according to the director of Gaza’s Indonesian Hospital. It comes as Israel has renewed its offensive in Gaza trib.al/PTY1fbq 📺 Sky 501, Virgin 602, Freeview 233 and YouTube

I never thought the sun would rise again—but it did. Yet it didn’t rise for more than 100 martyrs, who, like me, didn’t expect it to rise… but they were right. There will never be a night worse than the one that just passed. I had nowhere to hide. As the bombing intensified, I tucked my head into my shirt, then pulled it out—smoke everywhere. I raised my hands to the sky and ran, not knowing where to go, only knowing that death will eventually reach us if things keep going this way. I hated being born. I hated that I exist in this wretched world. Why do I live in such a filthy world? A world where I’m scared to even hurt an ant—yet they hurt us with unimaginable cruelty. I hated my humanity. We used to say when someone did something wrong, “He’s like an animal.” But if animals could see what’s happening in this world, they’d be proud of their animal nature—and ashamed if they were ever human.

Mohammed al Bardawil, a young witness to the March 23 attack on medics in Gaza, was killed on Saturday when an Israeli gunboat fired on Rafah beach. His father Saeed asked our colleague @BilalAbuYazan today for a photo of his son when he interviewed them together for our report.

You wouldn't think we had racist pogroms and attempts to burn down buildings full of refugees just last year, would you.

You should be ashamed, @ManUtd.
Manchester United chief exec Richard Arnold told senior staff two weeks ago the club were planning to bring back Mason Greenwood. He also intended to record a video explaining the decision. Charges against Greenwood for rape and assault were dropped in February. @AdamCrafton_

small boats could be solved tomorrow with kind, compassionate, safe routes. do not let those responsible for the deaths of these people tell you anything else. they did this. shame on all of them.

the deaths in the channel and the med were an entirely foreseeable tragedy. they're the product of choices made by governments here and across europe to force desperate people to risk everything for a chance at safety and security. those governments have blood on their hands.

Britain sleepwalking into American-style healthcare--and early deaths.
These new centres are outsourced to the private sector, who love to cherrypick the lucrative aspects of healthcare. Shareholder profits to be picked up by you - the UK taxpayer - enriching people who exploit human illness for profit. Privatisation in plain sight, at NHS expense.

This is a brilliant overview of how the use of the private sector fundamentally undermines the NHS by @DrAmirKhanGP #SaveOurNHS
The govt has announced greater involvement of the private sector in the NHS, supposedly to tackle waiting lists @DrAmirKhanGP provides an excellent explanation about why using the private sector undermines the NHS still further (and hastens its demise)

One of the most challenging aspects of getting people to understand #LongCovid is QOL is so unthinkably low, yet pts can appear ok at passing glance. This is often due to PEM. Thank God we have one of the most important voices in science journalism trying to bridge the divide👇
🛑I wrote about what “fatigue” really means for people with long COVID and ME/CFS, and why this profoundly debilitating symptom is so often misunderstood and trivialized. (This piece also covers PEM.) 1/ theatlantic.com/health/archi…

So I’m going to try and summarise why the ticket office closures are a problem for disabled people. Since Covid, there’s been a major push not to use cash. So of course the money going to a ticket office is going to be less.

This kind of imagined British exceptionalism is just tiring. It’s the other way round: U.K. is the first country where a Conservative Party has been taken over by them. The Tories have embraced far right policies and Braverman also frequently uses far right rhetoric. So please.
Once again it looks like the UK will be the only major European country where the far right don’t have Parliamentary representation. The liberal (small l) tradition we have is something to be proud of, and distinguishes us from many or most EU members. news.sky.com/story/spain-ele…
