I have undertaken this project to put a face to 9/11 by posting a photo of everyone killed that day. Pictured below was 48 year old Kenneth Basnicki who was attending a business conference at Windows on the World in the North Tower. He was from Toronto and was the financial marketing director for Toronto-based BEA Systems. He called his mother to tell her that smoke was filling the restaurant and that the way out was blocked but then the line went dead. His widow Maureen co-founded the Canadian Coalition Against Terror and he was also survived by his two children. To forget a single one of these people is a blasphemy!

Pictured below was 36 year old Sandy Ayala who was a banquet steward at Windows on the World in the North Tower as well as working as a part-time physical trainer. He usually worked the night shift but he was putting in extra hours on 9/11 to save money to buy his 12 year old daughter a birthday present. He used to tell people that he was sure that he was going to die young and not make it past the age of 36. He only lived one month past his 36th birthday and to forget even a single one of these people is a blasphemy!

Pictured below was 38 year old firefighter Gerald Atwood who died in the South Tower. He had been a firefighter for 8 years prior to which he ran a home improvement business with his brother. It was said that he had an infectious laugh and would play Santa Claus for the kids every year. He left behind a wife and two very young children and his wife was pregnant with their third child who was born 6 months after he died. To forget even a single one of these people is a blasphemy!

Pictured below was 44 year old Gregg Atlas who was a lieutenant with the New York City Fire Department and was last heard between the 30th and 40th floors in the North Tower. A 20 year old broker trainee Gregory Warnock from the 39th floor was going down the stairs when he came upon Atlas who was joking about his age and having to climb up so many stories with all that equipment. Warnock helped him carry part of it back up 25 floors and Atlas asked him if he was a firefighter. The trainee said he was a broker and Atlas told him to stick with that since it was better money. In his spare time he was a farmer raising cows and pigs and also raising food which he shared with his family, friends snd neighbors. He was due to turn 45 only 2 weeks after 9/11 and he left behind a wife and two children. To forget even a single one of these people is a blasphemy!

Pictured below was 34 year old Michael Armstrong who was a vice president of sales and electronic trading at Cantor Fitzgerald in the North Tower. It was said of him that he could say things to people that stuck with them and changed their lives and he was due to get married on October 6th. To forget even a single one of these people is a blasphemy!

Pictured below was 38 year old Barbara Arestegui a flight attendant aboard Flight 11 which crashed into the North Tower. She had been a flight attendant for 13 years and even as a little girl aspired to that playing with her Barbie dolls dressed up as an attendant in a model airplane cockpit. After she died her long time companion Wayne found a folder full of wonderful notes from passengers about her great service. To forget even a single one of these people is a blasphemy!
