I'm working hard to get students motivated to read more for academics & at all for pleasure. What better book for a school of chess champions than Steve Sheinkin, Maurice Ashley & Thien Pham's graphic novel Mind Vs. Machine?! Thank you in advance!♟️💙💜

@ImaginationSoup THX for sparking this chat. Wow, being called a master at this by @soontornvat @LaudLibraries @MrsCHeidrich alongside @LindaSuePark is more energizing than my a.m coffee. THX to all who name me. Also, hearing “master” brings this The Last Dragon scene to mind 😂

If you haven't read it, I URGE you to sit down w/James Baldwin's The Fire Next Time! In light of the SCOTUS's ruling, JB's essays are not just apropos; they're essential! He saw American society with 20/20 vision, wrote about it w/incomparable truth & clarity. #AffirmativeAction

Free people read freely. This school librarian stands for your right to read, because books save lives. Seeing stories, yours and others, in print helps us realize we’re not alone, that our lives matter. To those trying to take books away from students, shame on you.
Hands is real/relatable/relevant! I🧡that it explores tough topics w/fidelity & respect. It's hard for me to decide the best use of MY hands! Less than 150 pgs w/a rhythm that floats like a butterfly...get a hold @TorreyMaldonado's Hands & weigh in for yourself! #MGBookChat
