Using ultrafast THz nanoscopy, we resolved the interplay between surface morphology, crystallographic phase, and vertical carrier dynamics in metal halide perovskites. Fantastic collaboration with Michael Johnston's group @UniofOxford.

Here an overview of selected 2D material examples that can be studied using s-SNOM (details in future #fridaySNOM posts).
This overview does not even include correlative neaSCOPE modes like KPFM, photocurrent, Raman, pump-probe, ...
Busy times at Neaspec but great things ahead!

Registration is open for the 2nd International Workshop on "Near-field Optical Imaging and Spectroscopy", 12 September 2024, University of Sheffield: sheffield.ac.uk/nearfield-op…. Register to attend demonstration of our setup by Attocube on 11 September. Bring your own samples!
#fridaySNOM: Nano-photocurrent (nanoPC) results of last week's live demo!
Top: #AFM shows Au contacts and faint graphene in middle. Bottom: 10x10mu nanoPC image at 11mu wavelength (#infrared). Lots of defects exposed!
What are your favorite #photocurrent applications?
Twitter-exclusive (xxclusive?) #fridaySNOM post by the way, because i'm travelling - tell your friends! ;D
Labtour today at #Attocube's 2D Conference:
Station 1: live near-field polariton mapping on #hBN and #graphene, live nano-#photocurrent mapping of 2D material interfaces.
Station 2: live SNOM+Raman and live liquid cell SNOM.
Huge display of progress in nanoscopy! #fridaySNOM
Kleines Theater Haar is ready for our 2D Material Conference starting tomorrow!
Really excited for the lineup of speakers on #2Dmaterials, merging the communities of our #cryogenic and #nanoanalytics instruments.
Anyone already here? #attocube2D

Contact Prof Iris Niehues (uni-muenster.de/Physik.PI/ni…) & pls share with potential candidates!
Unique experiments on 2D materials with a new & customized IR-neaSCOPE+TERs await!
More 2D materials soon on #fridaySNOM
s-SNOM / nano-FTIR are #subsurface sensitive (left), which enables the membrane-approach for Liquid-SNOM (right). Right column shows s-SNOM image and nano-FTIR spectral line scan identifying a #PMMA bead immersed in #liquid H2O.
#fridaySNOM #superresolution #bio
Long thread but big deal for Bio & Life Science near-field microscopy: s-SNOM and nano-FTIR are now possible in aqueous environments!
This enables super-resolution nanoscopy of living objects, but label-free and with chemical sensitivity!

Earlier this year we successfully delivered the first Liquid Cell Kit to AG Heberle (picture AG Kozuch) at FU Berlin and demonstrated in-vivo nano-FTIR on site -> the zoom-in shows water absorption around 1600 cm-1.

Please do reach out to learn more about this, and follow #fridaySNOM for more updates coming very soon.
Liquid cell developed together with @norcadainc, flow control by @Fluigent.
Earlier (2013) results in air: single TMV, ferritin and insulin fibrils, monolayer membrane.
