wrote the same word-counting program 5 times, each faster than the last best result: 494× faster than my first Python version — by using SIMD in C all are O(n), but some squeeze far more from the CPU and memory!

Eh, to be fair, he also warned Bitcoiners about the dangers of missing out running BitcoinXT in 2015, running Grin in 2019, and "owning" wizard jpegs in 2023. But I love cherries too, they are tasty.

I read it, while I'm more polite, agree with @bergealex4. Very bad what-if. Nuke it immediately. Lost touch with users and the ecosystem or not getting how that scans. No offense, but lease hear the feedback that is a bad, bad, bad what-if.

Here is one simple thing you can do that would be very helpful to test the Bitcoin Core release candidate. At home, start bitcoind with the -natpmp option. Let it start and stop it. Check if it could successfully open a port on your router. You can check this by looking at the startup logs (which should be displayed in your terminal by default if you start with only `bitcoind -natpmp`). Among the first lines look for mentions of "pcp", "natpmp" or "portmap". Read the relevant log lines to determine whether the port mapping on your router was successful. If unsure, feel free to share it with me directly (dm, emails, ..) or with the project (IRC, 29.0 testing feedback issue, ..). Report the model of your router and whether the port mapping was successful.

Whoa. Facebook had a secret "Project Ghostbusters" (get it?) which allegedly was to decrypt "man-in-the-middle" style Snapchat traffic to copy it. Yellow highlight indicates redactions just lifted in nine unsealed plaintiffs briefs in private antitrust lawsuit. Wild stuff. /1

Really, what is it going to take for a judge to actually put a stop to this travesty? I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that today Wright is one of the most prolific and shameless liars and forgers of evidence the world has ever seen. And the courts just let him continue.

Further Craig Wright forgeries revealed! I don't know if I can accurately convey just how batshit insane this is, but let's try. 🧵 That UK courts continue to take him seriously is a true testament to the privilege afforded to well-funded litigants. bitcoindefense.org/wp-conten…

Hard pass on that "settlement." Just like Craig Wright forges documents and doesn't quite tell the truth, his description of the settlement offer isn't quite accurate either - it comes with loopholes that would allow him to sue people all over again.
