A place for anti-imperialists to help us understand this moment and to give homage to those resisting in any shape or form.
We are looking for rigorous, well-sourced work — journalistic, historical, or investigative — that is grounded in anti-imperialist and anti-colonial commitments on Lebanon and the region. We are also interested in photo essays, testimonies, and interviews.

NEW: Israel has effectively imposed a media blackout on occupied south Lebanon. We were among the last reporting teams to go before Israel blocked journalists from entry in late September.
UNIFIL confirmed that “at the moment” it can no longer take journalists into the zone.

It's so difficult to explain to the outside world what it has meant to live in the West Bank in the last few months.
The level of Israeli violence we have been witnessing has not only been unprecedented, but it's beyond rogue and feral.
Israelis, whether in the army or not, have been armed not just with military grade weapons like M16s, but they've been provided with drones.
Every neighborhood in the West Bank faces some form of Israeli violence every day. It's either settlers carrying out pogroms, shooting Palestinians in their own lands and homes, or the army and police detaining Palestinians and subjecting them to torture as a sadistic ritual.
As Palestinians we've been stripped of all capacity to not just push back, but to even remain on our lands.
BRIEF:
Water has been systemically cut off, electricity is slowly cut off, access to hospitals and education is ruptured, there are economic restrictions on money flow while Israeli soldiers carry out organized and systemic robbery of Palestinians (stealing money from people on checkpoints, stealing gold from homes, and even carrying out army-sanctioned robberies of hundreds of thousands of dollars from official money exchange offices).
The West Bank feels so dystopic, every day we wait to see if Israelis have come up with a reason to carry out their sadistic games of violence. Whether it's some Jewish holiday, or some other excuse, we're always just waiting to see what event Israelis will evoke that day to attack us.
It's like a daily waltz with death. You either survive another day, or you don't.

Three years into Israel's genocide in Gaza, who holds the authority to narrate it? Palestinian novelist Susan Abulhawa (@susanabulhawa) reflects on the limits of language in the face of extreme violence and the selective solidarity of Western feminism. 🧵

Mohammad was for my generation who Hind Rajab is to today's youth. We watched him die, live. We promised to never forget him, never stop fighting for justice, and never stop demanding freedom, safety, and dignity for all Palestinian children. And here we are, promising again
I suspect Jusoor's reporters are not aware of the propaganda outlet's ties. They're probably eager aspiring journalists desperate for a job.
Ask them if you see them on your street.
Jusoor News -- an Israeli intelligence-linked propaganda outlet -- is openly operating on the streets of Beirut.
Responsible citizens should take note of its name and microphone.
"An examination of the organization and individual behind the outlet points to Jusoor’s role within a vast and long-term covert operation designed to engineer public opinion in the Arab world in favor of Israel and its allies."

Some questions about Jusoor News:
1) Is the outlet licensed to operate as an association in Lebanon? If so, what kind of background check did the Interior Ministry run?
2) Why has the Information Ministry reneged on its monitoring role?
3) Is anyone around to wake up the MoE's Boycott Office from its long nap?
Jusoor's reporters have been hitting the pavement for months now.

The Israeli army set fire to Meiss el-Jabal Government Hospital in southern Lebanon, according to state media, bringing to 18 the number of hospitals damaged or destroyed by Israeli forces since March 2.
Meiss el-Jabal lies inside the Israeli-occupied area of southern Lebanon, where Israel has intensified demolition operations since a framework agreement was reached in June.
Hospitals are specially protected under international humanitarian law. Intentionally attacking a hospital that is not a military objective constitutes a war crime.
