Excited to share our new Brookings article, "Shaping global governance of AI agents," co-authored with Karla Yee Amezaga of the World Economic Forum!
As AI systems increasingly act on our behalf, the governance questions become more consequential: What did the system do? Who authorized it? Who is accountable? We explore how clear permissions, continuous oversight, and practical safeguards can support responsible innovation across countries, including those with limited regulatory capacity.

Delighted to share a new episode of the Foresight Africa podcast, featuring my conversation with Ahunna Eziakonwa, UN Under-Secretary-General and Special Adviser to the UN Secretary-General.
Ahead of #UNGA2026, we explore how African countries can move beyond reacting to global agendas to help set them—leveraging the continent’s growing strategic importance, extraordinary youth, innovation and technology, financial resources, women’s leadership, and the transformative potential of regional integration and the African Continental Free Trade Area.
We also discuss the future of multilateralism, Africa’s agency and voice in global governance, and what it will take to translate the continent’s extraordinary assets into greater prosperity and global influence.
