The number of fatal landslides in 2024 continues to be much higher than in any previous recorded year. The reasons are not clear, but may be related to the unprecedented high global surface air temperature and global sea surface temperature. #climatechange

Great to join the @StartNetwork #FOREWARN meeting on anticipation for landslides. @MBudimir & I presented work from the @LANDSLIP_NERC project showing how the use of short- and medium-range forecasts can help enable earlier action.
