The people making investment decisions see Britain’s future closer to Europe. YouGov research for Teneo surveyed 100 senior financial and corporate executives overseeing more than £30 trillion in assets. Nearly half backed seeking EU membership as soon as possible. Closer European ties should be central to the government’s plans for investment, jobs and growth.

The UK deserves a say in shaping Europe’s future. George Monbiot makes the case for full EU membership: a seat at the table, a voice in the decisions and the chance to help build the Europe we want.

Britain’s voice is missed in Europe. Bernd Lange, chair of the European Parliament’s trade committee, says the UK’s contribution to open markets and democracy is valued by our European neighbours. We want Britain back at the table, helping shape our shared future.

I give you the reductio ad absurdum of the brexitloons here. Pippa tells it as it is in the real world trying to inform someone about the single market process who has never exported a bean who, in return, barks sovrinty and then shuts up when there is no more nonsense to spout. Chapeau to your persistence. The fact is that the EU amounted to only 13% of our laws with our own ministers, trade bodies, MEPs, Commission staff drafting them of which 95% were adopted with our approval. And then endorsed by the House of Commons. That's democracy AND influence. Abandoned because of people who simply can't articulate why we should have done that. Amazing.
Bullshit. And expensive, industry destroying bullshit at that.

Good for them. We should be part of this.
Today, Ukraine and Moldova take another step towards our Union. Negotiation clusters are now opened on internal market as well as competitiveness and inclusive growth. Ukraine’s and Moldova’s future is in our Union. And we will support them all along the way.

Another example of #Brexit disbenefits Here in Scotland the number of EU students studying in Scotland has halved since Brexit - with significant consequences for the local economy.
Pre Brexit, EU students in Wales spent £83m off campus, boosting jobs and our local Cardiff East economy. Since then, EU students have halved. It’s time for a new, closer relationship with the EU and for both UK and EU students and Cardiff to benefit 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🤝🇪🇺

Cat check: One of the men in this picture is a politician currently serving 10 and a half years in prison for accepting Russian bribes. The other was his boss and doesn't think there's evidence of Russia interfering in UK politics.

Thanks to the 111K people who signed the govt petition earlier this year about UK applying to join the EU. And to the ~30K people who wrote to their MPs over the last few weeks to ask them to attend. It was a fantastic Westminster debate - respect to all the MPs who spoke. 👏
