The amount of open contempt that the GOP has for all of its potential allies is something that perplexed me when I was a teenager and first witnessed them do it to libertarians. There is truly nothing new under the sun. The GOP hates young white men, libertarians, America First, even the MAHA adherents. They are the perpetual beautiful losers. Now I of course understand that their contempt is tactical, rather than error. Welcome back to this part of the cycle where neocons spit in your face and then demand you vote for them to do very little functionally different from Democrats going the speed limit because at least they're not communists, as they ironically dangle the promise of checks they have no intention of ever issuing over your head while calling you a welfare queen. Well the contempt goes both ways and shame on me for ever having given them a chance to be anything other than the heels they are designed to be.
