Per NBA: The Clippers shall forfeit five first-round draft picks, one in each of the 2029, 2030, 2031, 2032, and 2033 NBA Drafts. Clippers owner Steve Ballmer is suspended from all league and team activities for one year for knowingly seeking to help Mr. Leonard obtain off-court income opportunities, for approving a business deal that he knew was a precondition for Aspiration to enter into an endorsement agreement with Mr. Leonard, and for his failure to create conditions under which his organization abided by the NBA’s circumvention rules. Clippers President of Business Operations Gillian Zucker is suspended without pay for one year for being primarily and directly culpable for the impermissible endorsement arrangements and for providing false and misleading statements to investigators. Clippers President of Basketball Operations Lawrence Frank is suspended without pay for six months for his involvement with the impermissible endorsement arrangements and for approving impermissible expenses incurred by Mr. Leonard and his family. The Clippers organization and personnel are subject to a compliance and monitoring program overseen by the league office for a period of five years.

BREAKING: Aaron Donald tells me he’s coming out of retirement and returning to play for the #Rams. Donald, in part, tells me: “I’ve been working the last 12-13 weeks to train my body and get it to a point where I felt like I could still play the game at a high level and be durable. I am now ready to come back to try and do something special with this group of guys. We back.”

🚨 🚨 🚨 He’s back: Rams star Aaron Donald is coming out of retirement and returning to the Rams on a one-year, $20M deal that with incentives could be worth up to $30M, per @rapsheet and me. After two seasons away, Donald now will join forces with Myles Garrett, giving the Rams two of the top defensive linemen in NFL history.

Peyton Watson’s $88M Cleveland Deal Just Killed Jonathan Kuminga’s Leverage Peyton Watson just secured a 4-year, $88M sign-and-trade with the Cavs, officially removing Cleveland as the primary threat Kuminga’s camp used for leverage against L.A. The Cavs committed $22M annually to Watson, leaving Kuminga’s reps at an empty table. The Delusion of the Mid-August Holdout: Kuminga’s agency stands as the biggest loser in this cascade. Dragging negotiations into late August hoping for a panic-bid backfired. By delaying for LeBron’s decision and leaking manufactured Kings interest, they burned cycles. The Purple & Gold Privilege: L.A. is now the undisputed favorite for a Kuminga sign-and-trade, but Rob Pelinka shouldn't sprint to overpay. Playing for the purple and gold is a privilege, not a bailout for bad leverage. Any deal alongside Luka Dončić must be strictly team-friendly (less than $15M AAV). The CBA Reality & Cap Flexibility: A 1-year rental is legally impossible—sign-and-trades mandate a minimum 3-year deal. Surrendering assets for a short flyer also makes no sense. More importantly, L.A. must protect next summer's cap flexibility and preserve the Non-Taxpayer MLE. If Kuminga's camp refuses a disciplined 3-year, $45M offer, the Lakers should comfortably walk away. You play silly games, you win silly prizes

Being a Laker means everything to me, and I’m excited to get back on the court and bring a championship to LA. I’ve gotten used to big changes over these last few years, but I know that no matter what, there is no limit to the potential of this iconic franchise. I look forward to meeting Josh and Bob so we can get to work building something special in LA together.

Luka gave us a summer update email: “I took a real break from basketball the first few weeks after the season ended to rehab my body. My recovery went great, and I’m 100% healthy again.” “Taking some time away from basketball is something I do at the start of every offseason. It’s a different way to do things, but it works for me. When I let myself miss the game a little bit and try some new things, it only makes me more excited and motivated to get back to playing.” “I’ve been back in the gym full time for a few months now. My days have been a mix of strength training, conditioning, and on-court work that’s preparing me for next season.”

This is why Laker fans started hating Lebron because of the Klutch influence with trades, favoritisms, signings that depleted Lakers flexibility and chemistry over the years. Drafting Bronny was the last straw.
