Same old racism. I am a proud daughter of parents that are from Jamaica & Haiti. My parents migrated to this country and worked their asses off so that they can have a better life! My dad was a factory worker & my late mother was a nurse. AND WE SURE AS HELL DO NOT EAT CAT!
This new lie about Haitian immigrants eating other people’s cats marks a new low for Republicans!

If you said he wasn’t gonna implement project 2025, you were wrong… If you said, he loves the “blacks,” you were wrong. If you said he’d only deport the “bad” ones, you were wrong. Oh and my fav, if you said he was going to reduce the cost of eggs, Boy, were you WRONG. Trump don’t give a damn about the country as a whole… PERIOD.

As of this moment, the entire federal government is in violation of the Civil Rights Act and the 14th Amendment —not b/c the government has ended DEIA programs, but b/c the government is discriminating against employees and new hires based on the color of their skin. The community note makes exactly the point the Trump DOJ cannot and did not make — that a statute clearly gave Native Americans citizenship. Why didnt DOJ make what on its surface looks like a good point? Well, because a statute also gave aliens born in the US citizenship! In defining those who are “nationals and citizens of the United States at birth,” 8 U.S.C. § 1401 says it is “a person born in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof.” If you take the position of the community note (which notably doesn’t even begin to defend the idea for what were the closest analog to aliens today, so-called “assimilated” native Americans) then you just confirm the illegality of Trump’s Executive Order. That’s why DOJ can’t say any of it and instead has the bizarre discussion excerpted above.

This is quite incredible. The US Justice Dept, under Trump, is defending its birthright citizenship Order by arguing that immigrant children covered by the Order cannot be citizens because... the children of Native Americans aren't US citizens.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
In the case Elk v. Wilkins SCOTUS found that Native Americans were not subject to the 14th Amendment's citizenship clause as they were "not subject to the jurisdiction of the United States when they were born". A later act of Congress granted citizenship to Native Americans. supreme.justia.com/cases/federal/… archives.gov/files/historic…

House Republicans pretended not to know about Project 2025 last year. Now they are implementing it. We will hold them accountable for lying to the American people.
