Annabel Richter was a 19 year old FIT student. She was fed fentanyl by a man named Moises Friere who told her it was cocaine. Friere knew what he was doing — he gave the drugs to two female students and didn’t take any himself. While Annabel was overdosing, Friere stripped off her clothes, took photos of her naked body, and then raped her instead of calling for help.
Because of what he did, she is dead.
There are no “I am Jane Doe” rallies for Annabel Richter. There is no daily coverage of her death on CNN. There are no New York Times investigations creating timelines of her last day. Unless you read local crime news in New York City, you will not have heard about this case.
Why is Cornell’s Jane Doe of so much more interest to mainstream news than FIT’s Annabel Richter? Perhaps because news loves to create narratives about predatory white male college students and refuses to make national-news villains of men like Friere, who commit most of the actual crime in places like New York City.
The NYT and CNN aren’t lying when they do 50 stories about Jane Doe and zero about Annabel Richter. They’re just exercising editorial judgment about which parts of the news you need to hear.

"El-Sayed speaks with precision and conviction about domestic policy. His evasiveness on terrorism and foreign affairs is therefore especially troubling."
This is from a joint op-ed in @DetroitNews by Lon Johnson, the former Chairman of the Michigan Democratic Party, and David Kramer the former finance Chairman for Elissa Slotkin and Haley Stevens.
He is sending dog whistles. If a Republican gave these types of word salad answers about a white supremacist they would be excoriated for it.

Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D., Mich.) just gave an interview where she said the quiet part out loud. She intends to unleash a slew of investigations to deter young people from even considering supporting the Administration … if they know what is good for them. jonathanturley.org/2026/10/1…

A very wise politico once told me: 2 months out you have to win the week, 3 weeks out you have to win the day, and 1 week out you have to win the hour.
Abdul El-Sayed has already lost today and it’s 8:15 am.

Look at their faces. You can barely read their names and their age without breaking into tears.
The Islamic Republic is preparing to hang these innocent women and men.
Stopping these executions must be a global emergency. Every second counts.
Say their names. Stop the hangings NOW.

One thing that really stood out to me during the 2020 BLM riots was how much of the coverage ignored the many people, predominantly minorities, who had their lives and livelihoods destroyed.
Their stories never fully got told.

Cannot unsee this. The aggressive hostility instead of an easy “Yes I will and here’s why” or “No I won’t and here’s why.”
Instead we get grievance theater. It’s up to Michigan voters but this guy should just put on a red-green jersey and stop pretending to care about Michigan. He’s running to represent the radical left.

We didn’t ask you to remove them from your list. We asked you to sequester their ballots so a judge can decide whether they may be counted. As warned yesterday, processing a noncitizen’s ballot violates federal law. Go read 18 USC 611 and 2.

Perhaps there are reasons of style policy involved, but reading New York Times coverage of Dr. El-Sayed, and remembering Times 2016 coverage of renowned brain surgeon Ben Carson makes you wonder: Did Carson ever get an MD?

Congressman — we opened and publicly announced an investigation two days ago. As we do with all attacks on houses of worship in America. @CivilRights @TheJusticeDept
As Co-Chair of the US India Caucus, I'm joining @RepMcCormick in calling on the DOJ and FBI to investigate this as a potential federal hate crime and hold those responsible accountable.

NEW: In a new letter to LA County, the DOJ warns that if the County allows ballot processors to tabulate the votes of alleged non-citizens, they are opening themself to federal criminal prosecution.
"If persons knowingly tabulate ballots cast by individuals identified by federal agencies as noncitizens, they risk becoming aiders and abettors to a federal crime."

🇮🇪 IRELAND: A Dublin hotel canceled about 70 rooms reserved for an international antisemitism conference after the manager asked if the "IDF would be involved."
I wonder if this hotel would cancel rooms for Muslim guests in town for a conference on "Islamophobia."
We all know the answer.
Ireland has a serious Jew hatred problem.

Great comparison.
I’m sure the NYT spokesman will have an explanation.
@NYTimesPR Why is brain surgeon Ben Carson a Mr. while unlicensed med school graduate Abdul el-Sayed is a Dr.
Do you know something about Dr. Ben Carson your readers don’t know??

Completely false.
When I worked in Trump '45, I was involved in deporting one of the last living Nazi SS officers back to Germany, who had lied on his immigration forms to come to America all the way back in 1945.
If any foreign-born person fraudulently obtained immigration status in America, they can have it reviewed at any time-- up to an including a revocation of status and denaturalization of citizenship.
