For one month I was working on a better version for my App. Now are the final steps and hopefully apple won't reject it (again)

After many many months of coding, my app is finally finished for the App Store. Can’t wait for people to use it. But one downside. Can’t publish it for all, only for friends. The API costs are currently to expensive for many users. While my friends use the app, I will work on a better system for less api cost.

Mobile development is crazy. I've had a bug where when I logged into my app, I've got an out of NavigationContext bug. After 2 days of searching from where the bug comes from, I found it. It was a conditional CSS styling. WHY DOES MOBILE DEVELOPMENT HAS SOME CRAZY BUGS CAUSED BY STYLNG? This is the second time styling broke my app.

Didn’t know that AI could work that well in a big project. I was working on an explore page with a rail system like Netflix. Didn’t know how to start with it and asked AI to help me plan it. After a little bit of planning, I've started working on it. AI messed up a few things and it took a few prompts to prioritize Redis cache before API calls. But within 30 mins, I had a fully working explore page. Some code parts are more spaghetti than others, but that can be fixed later. Probably be able to release the beta app soon.

How do you guys code big projects with AI? I tried to create an endpoint where it first should check DB -> Redis -> external API. After I said that the DB has minimal data and it should prioritize Redis and external API, it only used the DB and Redis. The AI is constantly ignoring me, writing spaghetti code, creates the same function over and over again. How do you safe time with that?

Today I haven’t worked that much on the app. Still working on the backend. Trying to create an endpoint which includes fallback logic. But damn that’s kinda hard. Filtering after data you don’t have is tricky. Currently working on a good system for redis and how to crate good keys to filter easily. Does somebody know a pretty good way for it?

Took some time to work on the app without posting. Progress is pretty good right now. I would say the app is 70% done. But the last few steps take a long time. How do you guys continue to post on X, without revealing to much from your app?

Today was pretty good for me. I've worked on the app design the last few days and around 70% of it is now done. Probably need to change a few things when I connect it to the backed, but it’s looking pretty good right now. Can’t wait to send it out to the testers
Why is it so hard to design a Home Screen for an app. I'm working on it for 2 days, because I don’t know what I want on it and how it could look like

UPDATE Couples App: I made an endpoint coded by AI, because I didn’t know where to start. Everything works and I tested multiple scenarios. But I don't really like it that AI made the whole endpoint. The code is 50-70% but some parts are kinda spaghetti. Should I rewrite the endpoint or let it be?
Today was a very good day. I mostly finished the endpoint, that I was working on for a few days now. It's not 100% that's what I want, but the first version is good. Saved it and now fixing the last few bugs. Can't wait to implement it into the app and see it in action.

Coding with this view I’m currently in Dubai for work. And in my free time, I continue to work on my mobile app

Today isn’t as good as I hope it to be. I worked on the api endpoint, but couldn’t get it to work. There so much behind it. I asked AI for small things to fix or add, but it made everything worse. Often when I use AI, I delete everything that it wrote and rewrite it, because it won’t work or is just bs. How can I be more productive with AI?

Creating something that doesn't really exist yet is hard. I'm currently working on a mobile app that doesn't really exist in that way. And I can't have all the data, so I need external APIs. But with so many restrictions from the APIs, it's really hard to implement one feature. I haven't really started to implement the endpoint for that feature because I always have things that prevent me from working on it. First, I required one function for that. But for that function I needed to rewrite some things in the database. But as I had to rewrite the database, I also have to update many parts of the code to work. I often don't know why I had that idea and why I want to finish it.
I have noticed something while working on the backend for my first mobile app. While I try to write an endpoint, I get distracted with other things. But not like phone or something. I didn't liked the response and errors I got from the backend, so I wrote a logger and error handler. Instead of working on the thing I want to do for 2 days, I do everything else instead of actually working on it. But in this scenario, it isn't that bad. I do other things that first didn't looked important. But now everything consistent and more easy to work with.

Today is a good day for me. I'm migrating my mobile app and backend from Supabase to @neondatabase and @better_auth. I really like Supabase and still use it in a few projects. But lately I saw many posts and articles, that it's harder and mostly expensive to scale. After some research I found that this combo should be good and scalable. I'm sitting here for more than 2 hours now and migrating everything. But I'm happy and can't wait to see if it's really worth it.

Today I haven’t done anything. I was at work and then spend some time with family and friends. But that’s ok. Not everyone can always have time to work on projects or something else. Time with others is also important, so it’s good to separate it and find time for both things.
Today was a good day. Thanks @eliana_jordan for your post with your To-do's. It really helped me today. ❌ Skipped breakfast ✅ Worked on the project ✅ Fixed many many bugs, but finished the feature ✅ Did some sport Tomorrow will probably not be as productive as today, but I hope I get something done.

Today I was kinda more productive. I haven’t coded much, but I've researched mostly everything I need and filled my DB with data, so I can continue. Also tested Unit tests with Vitest. It’s nice, but I need to learn how to import them correctly.
Today was not as productive as I hoped. I wrote down a few things about how the api should look like, how to structure the project and how to commit things. I also checked for API pricing and what exactly I need. But that feels to less for a day. Hope that I can work more on the project tomorrow.

After much much struggle, I finally got an important part of my backend working. It took 2 days, but now you can find places near you. Everything gets cached to reduce google API calls. Now I just need to automatically categories them and save them with my own data.

I was kinda bored in class, so I've build a website to create minimal code screenshots. It already exist in many ways, it was just something personal to create.

I don’t know why everyone says just this. Find a problem and build a solution. But that’s not all. Marketing is the most important part. Without marketing, your product is worthless. Nobody knows that your product exist. Your product can be shitty as it can be, but with good marketing, it will sell. If you go outside or look online what products exist, you will see things and think, who buys stupid stuff like that. And yet, they make much much $$$. Being a good programmer doesn’t give you anything, if you don’t know how to sell. I’m good at programming but really bad at marketing. That’s why my SaaS has just 2 users. Learn how to sell things and you will be unstoppable
You’re missing out on thousands of $$$ It’s never been easier to: - Pick a problem - Study competitors - Create a solution - Tap into an existing market This is the EXACT pipeline everyone is using that is making tons of $$$ rn. Don’t overthink it. Start today🫡
