"The Magician Killer" is a psychological thriller that is very intense from the start. Is Sam the little girl who got away from the killer ten years earlier? This book is too intense for me, so I will pass.

When the Nets Came Up Empty sounds interesting. The fact that Kaimi had a passion for fishing resonates with me. My father had that passion and fished whenever he could. I know very little about Hawaiian culture, and I am interested in reading the book to learn more.

"Summertime & Short Stories" is just that: A book of short stories all based around the summertime season. The author has a gift for writing, which makes it a joy to read. Sometimes, a short story is exactly what you need on a summer's day.

"Is It Really What It Is?" captured my interest right away. I can remember those times back then when times were simpler. Her memoir describes a typical family back then, and Darrel was a typical teenage boy, as I knew several boys who followed his path.

"The Irish Connection" is a powerful and deeply emotional book about what the people went through during the Potato Famine. I cannot begin to imagine what those people went through during those times.

"Odyssey Tale" sounds like an intriguing tale with many different components. I hope that Otis gets out of prison and is reunited with his family.

"History as Covenant" is a book that I will not be reading. I don't read books that are religious in any way or books that I have to think too much about. I've been retired for 20 years and am loving it!

"Troubled Zen" is an action-packed thriller with a woman named Zen as its lead character. It seems like Zen is a strong, independent woman who does the jobs that most men do.

I love a good love story, and Chipiwa's Cry sounds like it will be a great read. Paul and Chipiwa's relationship seems to be plagued by many obstacles. It's too bad that the war put them on opposite sides.

The Heart Beneath the Badge sounds like the kind of western that I like to read, with plenty of romance. People in small towns always gossip about other people, especially back then. I'm glad that Heath and Rebekka found each other again.
