How does obesity disrupt ILC2 function and adipose tissue hoemostasis?
In our latest study, we identify acetyl-CoA carboxylase 1 (ACC1) as a critical metabolic regulator of adipose ILC2 maintenance and function.
We show that excess lipids in obesity suppress ACC1 in adipose ILC2s. Our findings also point towards an unexpected role of ACC1 in maintaining citrate shuttling and the NAD⁺/NADH balance.

Lipid metabolism and redox balance are linked in type 2 immunity! We found that allergen-induced #ILC2s and #Th2 cells require cysteine-driven glutathione
synthesis to prevent #ferroptosis and
support #lipid metabolism and expansion of type 2 immune cells in #asthma.
Our new paper out in @ImmunityCP Congratulations to first author Chantal Wientjens! cell.com/immunity/fulltext/S…
