Adaptive immune regulation of innate immunity ✨ the paradigm has been innate immune regulation of adaptive immunity but the relationship is bidirectional. So much to discover and learn here.

My lab at @Stanford is looking to hire postdocs for multiple projects on cancer biology and therapeutics. Our recent work has uncovered some truly remarkable mechanisms for cytotoxic small molecules and we're looking to build on this research. If interested, see below:

Congratulations to Wang’s lab @LabTaia, and Bowie @Bowie0625 on this elegant and impactful work, showing that antibody efficacy is not just about affinity, but also the durability of IgG-FcyR interactions under physiological forces.

I am honored to be named a RISE Scholar by @parkerici, joining a community of incredible and ambitious researchers transforming cancer immunotherapy!
We are thrilled to share the 2024 class of Representation in SciencE (RISE) Scholars, a group of seven exceptional researchers selected through our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Program. Read our latest blog: parkerici.org/the-latest/par…
Congratulations 🌟 to our own Joe Gonzalez for winning the McDevitt Award at @stanfordimmuno for scientific excellence. Well deserved 🎉🎊 @jccGz

Sialylated IgG protects against lung inflammation and severe influenza disease... Actually glycans are essential for nearly all aspects of immunity, but one has to look to see...

RFK Jr. has no medical or scientific credentials and wants to gut the National Institutes of Health. And Marjorie Taylor Greene today cheered him on in our committee. This is outrageous and shameful.

Sialylated IgG induces expression of REST in alveolar macrophages via CD209, where REST dampens the responsiveness of macrophages to multiple NFκB stimuli and controls the inflammatory lung response to influenza viruses @ImmunityCP @LabTaia

#CARTcells for #DIPG #DMG clinical trial (1st arm) results are out today. Full Tweetorial coming, but first want to share the story of a patient whose #DIPG has disappeared for over 3 years. It is a milestone and moment of hope on a journey filled with so much grief.
“There’s a lot of loss that led to this research,” Drew’s dad said. “I hope those families know that this success is because of them.”

Out today in @ImmunityCP! We define how sialylation of IgG Fc domains regulates NF-κB-driven responses in the lungs.
sciencedirect.com/science/ar…
@StanfordMed @HHMINEWS @niaidcivics
Sialylated IgG Fc domains induce a transcription factor called REST, which blocks transcription of NF-κB. In the lungs of mice, this activity protected against influenza virus-induced inflammation and preserved lung function during infection.
Grateful for our many colleagues and collaborators who made this work possible. @purveshkhatri @VangelisAndrea1 @msdiamondlab and many others. This study was led by four (!) first authors, listed alphabetically. All made unique and critical contributions. Congratulations, all!
Tenure Day 🎊! I am incredibly grateful to all the Wang lab members who form a thoughtful, dynamic, and motivating team. Time to celebrate!
So much gratitude for our lab's many friends and collaborators, my formal mentors Dr. Peter Palese and Dr. Jeffrey Ravetch, and the many informal mentors (TNTC) from whom I draw inspiration and learn. @stanfordmed, #WomeninSTEM
Congratulations to our good friend and collaborator @msdiamondlab and to all the new NAS members 🌟
We are happy to announce that Dr. Diamond has been elected as a new NAS member in the 2024 NAS Election today. Congrats! #WUSM
