Wherever you stand on the future food system, there's growing acceptance that the status quo is unsustainable.
For attendees at #AWFDebate, 'Eat less meat' was the commonest response to ways we can solve the sustainable feeding challenge. It wouldn't have been, a few years ago.
Thanks so much for the invite @AWF_VETS! 🙏🏼
#AWFDebate ‘Environmental sustainability, diet & animal welfare’, with @L_Higham, @Rob_Percival_, Dave Ross @agri_epi, Sarah Ison @ciwf & Hillary Pearce @HillsPetUKIE will explore how we can move towards sustainable, high welfare diets for animals &humans

We need new ways to both define land and use it (or not) in the most sustainable way to deliver on multiple objectives. Nutritious food being one key one, nature and natural assets another, carbon storage, & energy on efficiency per he (solar done well much more than fuelcrops)
This was an astonishing mistake for a cabinet minister to make and the correction was far too long in coming. solarpowerportal.co.uk/news/…

A Prime Minister who puts an avowed climate sceptic in charge of energy and climate policy does not take climate change, or indeed anything, seriously. It is ridiculous to be asked to pretend otherwise.
The Rt Hon Jacob Rees-Mogg MP @Jacob_Rees_Mogg has been appointed Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy @BEISGovUK.
