Whenever I’m feeling stressed I like to order a book online. Does it make me feel better? No. Does it relieve my crippling anxiety? Not at all. Do I read past the first chapter? LISTEN,

If you could listen to your favorite author(s) discuss any kind of behind-the-scenes info - about their stories, processes, routines, etc. - what topic would you want to hear about most?

Idk why, but I can seriously nerd out on writing routines/schedules. Can't stick to my own, but I love hearing about yours!

I write because I’m not sure how I can get to you but if I do I’ll send it over. Lol, ok.
Type "I write because" and let your middle predictive text button lay bare all your secrets 👀 I write because of my work experience in this field of work. .... well as a horror writer this is very incriminating 😂👀

WP is my favorite writing challenge to participate in, they have the best prompts! I've also really appreciated their insightful feedback. Wishing my fellow contestants good luck (but not *too* good....)!
If you signed up and have not received the commencement email (check junk/spam), reach out to us and we will get that to you right away. Best of luck, writers!!!

have you ever read a novel where you came across a line so perfect, so psychologically astute and true and resonant, that it blew your hair back

“the classics are boring” you mean the books that have been loved by millions? passed down for generations? that Wishbone performed and the Muppets sang songs about?

Become a writer anyway. Fuck it, do it, it won't save you, but it's still a beautiful dream to write novels and short stories and poems and mingle with other dreamers and make art and laugh in the face of death. And writing is constant death. May you always live más.

Stopped by my parents’ this AM. Mom asked if I wanted to try this new coffee drink she made. Sure! Tasted pretty good. Asked what’s in it? “Coffee I made yesterday. Plus creamer and ice.”… so… an iced coffee then? #moms

#WritingCommunity Happy Wednesday! What are you working on this week? Do you create weekly goals + deadlines for yourself? Or do you wing it and see what happens? I love hearing other writers' processes.

I'll go first. I've responded to edits on a piece coming out soon (!!), and before Friday I still need to do some Se1 recon and general 🧠⛈️ for The Adventures of Sir Rodney the Root. Did I mention we're back in the writers' room for Se2? #podcast

Don’t be a snob about reading. The best reason to read anything is because of the joy it brings. Books were made to shock and enchant and delight. They’re just about the only magic we have left in a world that is starved for wonder.

I’m hoping the #writingcommunity can help me understand something. Is it possible to have great diction but terrible grammar? I understand that grammar is the rules of, and I thought diction was the style/choice of writing. (1/2)

Maybe I’m totally off, but I thought if you have a solid handle on diction, you would also have an equal handle on the grammar/rules to best apply said diction? Would love other people’s insight, thanks. (2/2)
