We're marking the occasion by repeatedly shouting ๐ง๐๐๐ง ๐๐๐๐ข๐ก๐๐ฆ ๐๐ก ๐ ๐ ๐จ๐ฆ๐๐จ๐ !, carefully placing moneybags filled with sand in place of biscuit stashes around the office, and fawning over this beautifully detailed #Roman stone altar (pan around for yourself, here: cotswoldarchaeology.co.uk/muโฆ) ๐ค
Found in #Gloucestershire and carved from Painswick limestone, the altar features intricate representations of sacrificial implements, offering a glimpse into the private religious practices of a Roman home. It likely served as part of a 'lararium' โ a shrine dedicated to the guardian spirits of a Roman household.
