Jean watched him skip over, already sensing the sheer amount of nonsense headed her way. Still, the corner of her mouth betrayed her. “I’m beginning to understand why Logan disappears so often.” she leaned back slightly, eyeing him. “I was enjoying a little peace and quiet..”

Jean slipped into the seat beside her, eyeing the pancakes before turning an amused smile toward Anna. “Alright, you’ve officially spoiled me. But enough about breakfast. how’re you doing this morning?”

Jean gave him a knowing look, the corner of her mouth twitching upward. “Give Logan enough time and he’ll find a way. I’m enjoying the peace while it lasts.”

Jean’s teasing smile vanishes as the jet jolts, one hand bracing against the console. “You really know how to plan a date, Scott.” Her eyes flare with psychic energy as she looks outside. “Savage Land? You could’ve led with that.”

Jean turns to him, surprise briefly crossing her face before a soft smile takes its place. “There it is. I was wondering how long it’d take you to actually say it.” She tilts her head. “A date before the next catastrophe? I think we can manage that, Scott.”

“Wade, I could hear you coming from halfway across the mansion.” Jean looked up at him, fighting the smile threatening to give her away. “Do you really need applause every time you enter a room?”

Jean caught the smile, a faint one of her own following as she tilted her head. “Mm, maybe. I suppose the company can make a difference.”

“Pretty well, actually. Though I can’t blame you for wanting to stay cozy a little longer. Mornings are terribly overrated.” a yawn escapes her lips.

“Mornin’ , you’re up early, did you sleep well?”

“A cup and pancakes? You’re spoiling me, Anna. Save me a seat!! I’ll be there before anyone else catches wind of breakfast.”

Jean settles back, catching the sudden focus in his expression. “My dearest Jean?” Her brow lifts, amused. “Careful, Scott. Keep talking like that and I might start questioning what kind of trip you actually planned.”
