The price theory of war. In Moscow, the sign up bonus for the Army volunteers is 1.9 million rubles ($22,000) now. In NYC, this would be like offering $140,000 as a sign up bonus. The price theory says that the war is not popular in Russia.

Twenty years ago on this day, April 23, 2004, Presidents of Ukraine and Russia celebrated signing of the Russia-Ukraine Border Treaty. When Putin's says that he has not, personally, signed treaties with 1991 borders with Crimea as a part of Ukraine, he is simply lying.
