I grew up on a council estate—I know how important council homes are to Londoners.
I'm proud that over the last financial year, we’ve started building more than 4,600 new council homes across the city. Today, I took a trip to Bermondsey to see some of them for myself.

Very please that @lb_southwark is now offering free, rapid COVID-19 tests to people aged 16+ who DON'T have Covid symptoms. It’s a very easy process and results are available within 1 hour. We are encouraging all key workers to get tested - let’s keep each other safe.

This morning I went with @SadiqKhan to see some of the new council housing being built by Southwark Council, part funded by City Hall: 29 new council homes on the Acorn estate.
Last year City Hall funding helped start more new council homes since 1985 - the year I was born

Talking to @BBCLondonNews & @AysheaBuksh about importance of shared spaces & inclusive play in new development. It's fundamental to the design of the 3 multi-tenure courtyards & new play street at Kings Crescent. Also why we support play streets & have re-written planning policy.

Some incredible presentations, with fab use of humour inc. a nice use of 'Everything is awesome when you're part of an award winning team'.
