ON THIS DATE IN 2005: This statement was issued by NWS meteorologist Robert Ricks (from the Slidell office) at mid-morning on August 28, 2005.
At the time, Katrina was a category five hurricane in the Gulf, similar in strength to Camille in 1969. It would make landfall the next day as a category three at Waveland Mississippi.
Some thought this “doomsday” statement was a hoax. Unfortunately, it wasn’t... as everyone would find out the next day.

2025 = 45^2
It's a perfect square. It will probably be the only perfect square year you ever get to live in.
The last time that occurred was in 1936. The next will be in 2116.
So, make 2025 a perfect year for you.

Niche tweet but I think using the $75m in savings higher ed would realize from the $2b teacher retirement system debt payment plan to buyout Brian Kelly would be an allowable expense under the terms of HB5

Tomorrow I'll be sharing the science I'm doing on my Blue Origin flight. I'll be furthering research from the Space Force - and the best part...is I'm giving it away to you all.
Stay tuned :)

NEVER FORGET:
Not one Republican officeholder who objected to Biden’s victory has objected to their own wins on the same day, on the same ballots, using the same election systems.

3 years ago, my dream job was cancelled.
Emily's Wonder Lab helped inspire the next generation of scientists. I pitched dozens of science experiments for more seasons, but they weren't interested.
What do you do when your dream is cancelled?
You pivot.
I turned the experiments into a book series.
They became a #1 NYTimes Best Seller.
I used all the money I made from the books to hire a production company to help me turn each of the 100 science experiments into a YouTube series.
Introducing: Emily's Science Lab. It launches tomorrow.
Here's to controlling our own destiny ;)

You probably know the start of this Olympic story, but do you know how it finished?
This photo is of Eric Moussambani, aka 'Eric the Eel' from Equatorial Guinea, competing in the 100m Freestyle event at the Sydney 2000 Olympics, alone.
Why?
