The prettiest high school I’ve seen! 📚 Founded in 1868, St. Ignatius College Prep is a rare example of a #Chicago #building predating the 1871 Great Chicago Fire. Here’s the 1887-1888 #OpenHouseChicago #Architecture #Design #Library #Books #Wood #Woodworking #Urban #Photography

INTERESTING! Bing Webmaster Tools is once again leading the charge: you can now see topics you're being cited for, how often they're cited and related grounding queries. This is the closest we have to classic search data. Your turn, Google!

NEW: Inflation data came in and Donald Trump’s failed economic agenda has raised prices for Americans by 5.9%. That means families are paying $3,772 more thanks to inflation under Trump. @SecScottBessent, any more comments on the economic mess you and your boss created?

Over 400 academics in 30+ countries signed our open letter calling for immediate changes in AI development and deployment practices to ensure that cybersecurity incidents do not continue to occur, as future incidents will be far more damaging to our critical infrastructure.

Look at this drop in Reddit traffic since the Yandex data centers were struck. Russian interference now looks very real, with what appears to be concrete evidence. A genuine massacre of Russian bots promoting Trump and MAGA in the United States, AfD in Germany, the National Rally in France, and other pro-Putin forces. Now I understand why Musk is so furious.

SITUATION DETECTED: Anthropic believes AI models may be only months away from being capable of self-replicating without access to a datacenter by using commercial devices like Android smart TVs.

What could go wrong? Anyone else tired of this? -> Anthropic researchers say small AI models may be months away from being able to self-replicate on IoT devices like smart ovens and off-brand Android TV boxes "The worm would be slow but almost impossible to kill" "An AI model that copies itself from device to device, sets itself up, and keeps spreading. Until now, this kind of risk was mainly tied to data centers. But a new study by Anthropic researchers William Zhou and Daniel Freeman suggests it could work just as well across cheap consumer hardware." the-decoder.com/anthropic-st…

Zelenskyy: "When our strikes reached Yandex data centers, it suddenly became little easier to breathe on many social media platforms. Many people noticed it. There was less hate, less division, fewer provocations because there were fewer bots. It's pretty clear where those bots were coming from. If they disappeared when Yandex went offline, this proves once again that Europe is not the source of the problems." The big problem is that Russia figured out how modern society consumes information a decade ago, but the West hasn't. There are millions of bots commenting and posting Russian propaganda. There are paid influencers spreading it, with Russian bots supporting their content. There is a gigantic machine operating to radicalize and influence Western societies, and there is not enough defense in place. It doesn't just influence elections, it sows discord, engulfs societies in culture wars, radicalizes teenagers, and shapes political decisions when elected officials fail to read the room. That needs to change. And fast.

4/ We should not socialize the risk while privatizing the reward. Pharmaceutical companies cannot release products with known, unmitigated dangers simply because the potential benefits are enormous.
