“Greatest ally” in Washington shouldn’t mean greatest ally to the president.
It should mean greatest ally to Iowa.
Thomas Laehn will answer to Iowa—not Washington.
The numbers are in.
Trump’s tariffs have caused 2,700 manufacturing workers in Iowa to lose their jobs and have increased costs for the typical Iowa household by $600.
When it mattered, it was more important to Ashley Hinson to retain Trump’s favor and to be his “greatest ally” than to stand up for the people of Iowa.
Iowans deserve a senator who will be their greatest ally and who will defend the markets upon which our state’s manufacturers depend.
Officers illegally stopped, detained, and arrested a Navy veteran after he lawfully recorded a traffic stop. Then they tracked him for weeks using Flock Safety cameras. reason.com/2026/09/02/wiscon…
Lets predict how this goes:
Hinson and Turek trade lines about not showing up to work, about big donors and out of state money funding their campaigns and pocketbooks, one calls another Trumps biggest ally, another calls one a socialist. And both claim victory with random clips on tiktok.
Since basically they are the same, let's just have @Laehn4Iowa debate them 1 on 2.
WHO 13 to host Iowa U.S. Senate debate Oct. 13 who13.com/on-air/seen-on-tv/…
Thousands of Iowans supported Thomas Laehn to be on the ballot by signing his petition, overwhelmingly Americans are frustrated by the current state of their "representatives" in Washington.. Only reason for media to keep him off the debate stage is to protect the status quo.

I’ll soon be sponsoring a bill to withhold federal money from municipalities and police departments that deploy Flock (and other style) cameras to surveil law abiding citizens.
Ted Cruz, Sen. Grassley; they are going to pull out all the old tricks in order to protect their investment.
Iowans don't need more of the same politicians, bowing down to big donors and party machines.
Iowans can send a real message this November - @Laehn4Iowa
Two most logical outcomes from this are:
1. After taxpayer paid vacation (administrative leave) everything is ignored for qualified immunity
2. Department settles with family using taxpayer funds, and nothing happens to the offender.
If this were anyone else who trespassed and shot at your pet/livestock/property they'd be arrested. If you trespassed and shot a K-9 unit you'd never see the light of day again.

1.6 MILLION unauthorized searches in a city with a population of ~68,000.
Let that sink in.

“We could cancel every Flock contract tomorrow, and the surveillance problem remains, because a competitor takes the contract the next day.
The fix isn't a boycott of one vendor. It's a warrant requirement.”

Great time today speaking at the @brownstoneinst event held at Joel Salatin’s amazing @Polyface_Farms.
This is the regenerative farm where the late State Senator Frank Niceley and I came up with the idea for the PRIME Act that @chelliepingree and I first coauthored in 2015.
TL;DR citizen files a compliant and law enforcement spend weeks following him around with Flock cameras.
Remember that next time one of them gets up and cries about how its on you next time they can't do their job.
Flock used to retaliate against a citizen for filming police
Jones recorded an officer from a private lot across the street.
The officer confronted him, pulled him from his car, and arrested him.
After Jones filed a complaint, the department searched his location on Flock more than 100 times.
Thomas Laehn wrote the bill to protect Iowa property rights against eminent domain - then the governor vetoed it.

Massie reupped his calls for Congress to remove barriers for local meat processors.
“This is great, but it should be a law, not just an executive order,” Massie wrote, referring to his proposed Processing Revival and Intrastate Meat Exemption (PRIME) Act.

Republicans and Democrats are not entitled to a clear field. If a candidate satisfies Iowa law, party officials should not fear giving voters another choice. That is what elections are for. #IAPolitics
