@gardensinboots What now with the cancellation of the LTN? A not unusual example of two rat-running motorists almost colliding in 20mph zone. Listen for skidding tyres, watch the Skoda immediately resume speeding.

The dog walker waiting to cross the road stops me to say she cannot wait for the LTN implementation. What now? Do I ferry my kids around locally in the car in order to keep them safe from drivers like this, or encourage them onto the roads on their bikes?

Set of temp 3-way lights outside my house on St Agnes Rd, Moseley. Lack of compliance from car drivers is through the roof. Witnessed dozens incidents of ignoring red and conflict with other road users. Lack of enforcement. Lack of responsibility. Lack of patience. Lack of care.

“Nobody grows up in life with dreams of moving to Birmingham”, I keep saying to friends who look quizzically at me when I tell them I moved here from Hampton Court and Teddington. None of them have debated that with me.

This city has some serious problems with its fascination with enabling motor vehicle drivers to do as they like and I don’t see it changing for decades to come.

Very similar observations to those of @richardosman and @MarinaHyde on this week’s brilliant @restisents podcast.
Any time I talk about a wealthy person's outfit, someone in the comments is quick to reply: "They're rich, you think they care?" No one has to care about my opinions or clothes, regardless of net worth. But let's talk about the connection between wealth and aesthetics 🧵

The nice thing about personalised number plates, is, they are very easily remembered. This means I’m able to ask the drivers of the cars on which they are festooned whether they benefitted from the educational course or points on licence from their previous piss poor driving that

endangered me or others. There’re many conclusions to be made when I am told to “go and get fucked” and one of those is that they remember the course or the points 👍

Is it just my recent poor experiences, or are a lot of retail business, particularly the larger examples, so hesitant and unequipped to deal with customers via email?
