I’ve come to accept that the NDP have no shot on Saturday. The Conservatives have made a ton of promises that they aren’t going to be able to keep. I think the NDP might have a good shot in 2030 as long they pick someone electable and not like an Avi Lewis clone or something.

Lmao yeah sure the party which just elected KLF as leader is going to be besties with Mark Carney. The BC Conservatives ability to make everyone forget what they were like just a fucking month ago needs to be studied.
Because the BC cons will actually work with Carney instead of paying lip service to team Canada while denying permitting across multiple industries as the NDP has done.

Cool, but this is not going to be finished until like 2040 lmao.
NEW - Both the @bcndp and @Conservative_BC promise a SkyTrain extension to Newton, saying Doug McCallum, who made the promise in his successful mayoral bid, was right. Conservatives announce it at 845am. NDP at 9am.

Why would we need Eby to lose his seat? He is 100% gone before 2028 even if there’s some way he can hobble together a majority.
This week, BC NDP supporters will crack wishbones, blow on fallen eyelashes, burn sage, rinse their moonstones, and screenshot their phones at 11:11 to manifest their ultimate #bcpoli electoral miracle: A BC NDP victory without David Eby winning his own seat.

It’s great that the separatists are getting crushed, but it is still incredibly undignified that there was even a referendum to begin with. We should never have enabled them.
And with 20% of the polls reporting

He's not wrong. We saw this in the US. Conservatives flirt with extremists and hope to ride them to victory as long as possible. The Tea Party was a joke, and it made Trump a king.
Eby says Albertans are voting in a separation referendum because elected officials normalized β€œextreme ideas” β€” and claims the same trend has taken root in the BC Conservative caucus: β€œBy failing to draw a line, fringe ideas suddenly become normalized.”

With the polls showing a very close race in Metro Vancouver, but the Island/Interior relatively stable, it seems like the NDP might be losing a lot of ground with ethnic voters. Decriminalization and SOGI are probably the largest culprits for that, I suspect.

Finally a new poll. 46 CPBC 43 NDP 7 GRN. Last AR poll was CPBC +5, and CPBC +8 before that one, so I guess it could be worse.

How have we gotten more Alberta polls than we have BC polls in the past week? We have an election in 5 days! There’s not one poll post debate!

Right-wing media promoting the Greens is incredibly transparent. It's so obvious what they're doing here.
A former Green staffer urges progressives to stop voting NDP just to block the Conservatives. He says Premier @Dave_Eby’s 2024 pitch for Green supporters to vote NDP in West Vancouver-Sea to Sky ignored that the race was between the Greens and Conservatives, with the NDP a distant third.

I really hate that if the BC Conservatives win, it’s probably just a backdoor way for Caroline Elliott, or god forbid Aaron Gunn to become premier. At least Lorne Doerkson is relatively normal.

Replying to @LDoerkson
@LDoerkson promised a fully costed platform before people started voting. He missed his own deadline. He loves to say "trust me when I say." Why should anyone, when he can't keep a promise he set for himself? Where's the platform, Lorne? #BCpoli
People are already voting, and Lorne Doerkson still won’t show you his plan. Here's why: His promises blow a $5 billion hole in the budget. His own MLA says health care will take β€œthe brunt” of the cuts. He’s hoping you don’t find out until after you vote.

It seems the only mayors in Metro Vancouver to win re-election are in Burnaby, both North Vans, PoCo, and Pitt Meadows.

I know Brad West kind of sucks, but this is why the NDP need him to succeed Farnworth when he retires.

We should be sending this fossil to the nursing home and not the mayor’s office FFS. We’ve already kicked him to the curb twice! Why does Surrey love having terrible mayors so much?

Ngl the Van Liberals kind of deserved to flop. For one thing it’s just lazy to blatantly piggyback off of Carney, secondly, having former BC Conservative candidates on your council slate means that your commitment to liberalism really isn’t that sincere.
Watch: Vancouver Liberals mayoral candidate @kareemformayor officially concedes the election, announcing his retirement from politics. "A few moments ago I spoke with Pete Fry to congratulate him on being elected the next mayor of Vancouver. We have elected a progressive majority in the city of Vancouver. ABC has been wiped out." #vanpoli #vancouver #bcpoli

Incumbents seem to be struggling. Delta, Vancouver, New Westminster, West Vancouver, both Langleys and probably Surrey too will all have new mayors.

Looks like the left is going to win big in Vancouver. Meanwhile in Surrey, we might be stuck with the guy who has already been voted out twice and the mayor when I was in preschool.
