What a shock! The Daily News is criticizing @realDonaldTrump for refunding corporations for insane wind leases that should never have been allowed in the first place.
Here’s an excerpt:
“Trump’s antipathy to wind energy is lose-lose-lose”
“That brings the total that Trump has committed specifically to kill wind energy to just about $4 billion. Let us repeat that — the U.S. government will pay a fortune just to not have new energy infrastructure.”
Not.
The refunds are a net zero. Not THAT net zero; rather, a net zero to our federal treasury.
More from the Daily News:
“Going all-in on dirty and outdated energy sources is lose-lose-lose:
“…it helps accelerate the terror of climate change, whose terrible impact is becoming only more evident with each passing year and which will if unimpeded cause enormous damage not just to our economy but ability to live safely.”
Why not serve up some sensationalist climate panic? The psychiatrists in NYC must be grateful for the additional business.
“The projects that have now been abandoned are unlikely to just get going again with a change of leadership; each represents significant investments and preparation that just went into the garbage, and energy firms are not going to keep making these investments when there’s always the specter of an administration coming in and tossing sand in the gears.”
We hope this is true. 🙏🏻

Intelligent people with an ounce of common sense know it’s not offshore wind development vs oil rigs. It’s not a binary question.
There are so many less destructive and less costly ways to generate reliable power than offshore wind. And the OSW industry has been tied to environmental degradation in third world nations, habitat loss wherever, fisheries’ destruction as well as national security concerns.
But the trolls paid by the astroturf environmental groups consistently rage about oil rigs, climate change and environmental “justice.”

Make it make sense.
Open-loop cooling systems are restricted or prohibited for new power plants in many state waters because they can kill fish eggs, larvae, and other marine life by pulling in massive amounts of seawater and discharging it back into the environment at higher temperatures.
Yet offshore HVDC converter stations for offshore wind planned in federal waters use open-loop cooling systems that:
• Withdraw up to 8.1 million gallons of seawater every day
• Discharge water as warm as 90°F (32°C)
• According to documents they use sodium hypochlorite (bleach) to control marine growth inside the system
If these impacts are considered too harmful near our coasts, why are they suddenly acceptable in the middle of a living marine ecosystem?
Real environmentalists protect ecosystems. They don’t industrialize them.

American fishermen brave all conditions to bring heart healthy wild caught seafood to the American dinner plate. Unlike industrial offshore wind turbines, fishermen actually work when conditions are at their worst.
We owe it to them, to our military and coast guard, and ourselves, not to allow foreign energy companies to litter the ocean with life threatening industrial offshore wind turbines.

Endlines are lifelines! Ropeless fishing gear is a safety hazard that puts commercial fishermen in harm’s way.
If someone falls overboard and there’s no line to pull them back in, the consequences can be deadly.

When you buy your seafood locally, you are not only eating the freshest, most nutritious food available, but you are also supporting American small businesses and helping coastal communities thrive.
We must protect American fisheries.

So let me see if I get this right 🤔
Wind turbine in Texas just got hit by lightning and fiberglass blades exploded, burning debris raining down like confetti from a green energy parade. Flaming composite shards crashing into the ground. Totally normal. Nothing to see here.
So I have an idea… let’s put thousands of them in the Atlantic Ocean.
Because summertime on the Atlantic seaboard? No thunderstorms. No lightning. No hurricanes spinning up warm-water supercells. 🙄
And what’s the big deal about a 800 ft-plus foot tower of steel bolted into the seabed with three 55-ton, size of a football field non-recyclable fiberglass blades, spinning hundreds of feet in the air, taller than the Empire State Building and sitting in open saltwater?
Lightning never hits water either, right? 🤷♀️🤦♀️
And if it does? I’m sure flaming composite debris drifting through fishing grounds and washing up on beaches will just be part of the “sustainable transition.”
Brilliant plan. What could possibly go wrong? 😵💫🔫 And besides, it rarely ever happens.🤥
First Photo wind farm off of County Wicklow Oct 2022 catches fire from lightning strike. Next three, debris left from a Vineyard Wind OSW blade that broke apart for no reason July 2024. Three days later, the debris started landing on Nantucket, nine days later the debris traveled to New Hampshire down to New Jersey.

The choice before the nation is clear. We can continue policies that push American commercial fishermen aside and replace domestic seafood with imports and industrial ocean uses, or we can follow the direction set by the president’s executive order and put America’s food producers first.
Through President Trump’s leadership, the federal government has recognized that domestic seafood production is a matter of national interest, economic resilience and food security. foxnews.com/opinion/american… @realDonaldTrump @SecKennedy @SecRollins #FarmersAndFishermenFeedTheWorld

It does not require special security clearance to read about the many ways wind turbines of the height and density off our coastline will interfere with mariner and early detection radar, airport surveillance radar, underwater sonar detection systems, and search and rescue operations. Drone swarming above and under the water and autonomous submarines armed with torpedoes or cruise missiles small enough to hide, perhaps vertically, among a forest of 30' diameter monopiles are no longer the stuff of science fiction. @POTUS @realDonaldTrump @SecWar
